The Run In Kicks In - Blog (29/3)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

usual thread starter - "Now doubt has yielded to massive self belief."

hmmm... it was fantastic to win, but it's early days for that kind of statement. more on this with my own online ed reflecting saturday afternoon.

do you think the result means we've turned the corner or will it prove a false dawn?

at least it should be good for team morale if nothing else,, but 6 behind with 6 to play and we still go to ot  and will have to win is more then likely a bridge to far for us,, not winning in last 5 games has killed our title challange off,
but its football so we live in hope

I think this is a bit tongue in cheek because as great as I felt after finally winning a game the goals we conceded were appalling. Kolo in the build up to the Taylor's first goal was in the correct position and then he somehow allowed the Bolton player to get in front of him but Gallas in turning his back on Taylor's shot begs the question when did you ever see Adams, Bould or Keown turn away from a player about to pull the trigger?
I remember Frank Mclintock putting his head in the way of an oppossing players boot to defend our goal during the 71 double season, this team gives too many soft goals away to win the title, the forwards in "drying up" have shown how frail our defence can be.

All this uncertainty and excitment...i love being Arsenal! Yesterdays game showed the boys still beleive and will fight to the death. Hey, with 6 games left were one of 3 clubs challanging for the PL plus were on the back of a last minute winner as we roll into 4 games that will decide the fate of our season! Nothing is lost yet. COME ON YOU REDS!!

Regained touch and self belief

Post by jay.asnl4life »

Very little could have been bout the first goal, the second goal was sloppy, exactly the kind of mistakes Manchester United DO NOT make.

Anyway, the comeback must have instilled some confidence in the side....while watching, one could make out that Hleb has regained form to some extent, hard to say about Fabregas or Flamini....its from games like these that we can really see how important Adebayor is to the side...Theo Walcott is really coming of age (I hope i haven't spoken too soon.)

3 games against Liverpool in one week....I personally am not very confident about us coming out on top after the 2 legs in the UCL, Torres I think will make the difference ( I hope I am wrong)....if we manage to surpass Liverpool, we have a chance to avenge our defeat at the Bridge....It'll be interesting to see if we have we learnt from out mistakes

I think the squad will be well up for the Liverpool European games, and really believe they can win over the two legs.

As the author of the Run In Kicks In I accept that there are doubts about our defence and curiously it is not to do with Senderos who is back to his 2005 best but even taking this into account we can still win - we are prepared for defeat and if we do go down over the two legs and the premiership goes to Man U the inquest will begin but put it on hold - we just might do it - RVP is due a goal or two - Ade also and even Theo has been threatening to let rip.
Of course Torres is a threat but I will settle for 0-0 - some of us think 0-0 is better than 1-0 because we are not then trying to cling on to the slender one goal lead.
This time tomorrow we will know where we stand
