Players Who've Left Arsenal - Major Trophies Won

Post by VoiceOfReason »

Just saw this on SSN. Pretty fucking depressing tbh. The old adage about players achieving nothing when leaving us is now merely an urban myth. Wonder exactly what the figure will amount to before we do win another trophy? 100?

yep that blows that comforting grass aint greener on the otherside myth right out.....

wonder what goes through wengers head when he see's this eventually ????

or does he choose to ignore it as if it doesnt exist ??

its getting pretty desperate...... winning a carling cup will be celebrated by some if not most like a league win at this rate

One of the things that frustrates me is that someone at Sky has clearly gone to a fair bit of effort to research that info, then get it all up on screen looking pretty. They are clearly making a point, which would seem to indicate that someone clearly thinks Wenger/Arsenal are letting things slip.
So, if that is the case, why don't they ask ODL to his face and put those difficult, yet obvious points, directly to him during the weekly interviews???
What are they scared of?

Eduardo 5 'major trophies' - 2 Ukrainian leagues, 2 Ukrainian cups and 1 Ukrainian super  cup. I hope they've included any Sunday league titles that released youngsters might have won too???

Everybody knows that the club has won fuck all in 8 years and most people acknowledge that that is a huge failing for a club of our size etc. Everybody also knows that good players have had their heads turned by the fact that predecessors have flown the nest and experienced success elsewhere.

I'm not sure what creating a table, consisting mostly of players who left because they didn't make the grade (noticeably Eduardo, Hleb and Reyes all top 6) proves beyond what has been blindingly obvious for years?

Ferguson and Giggs have both won as many league titles as we have in our whole history

But the ring piece has nothing new to say anyway. It's always the same old BS.
Wouldn't it be great if they told him he was a daft old bugger who had lost the plot years ago, and has never truly proven he is capable of building his own successful team since he has been there? You know, throw a couple of hand grenades in there, just to see how the twat responds
I wish i had become a sports journo for this very reason. Not one of them seems to have the guts to question or rile Wenger, or any of them for that matter, through fear of being thrown out. Shame they can't all stick together as they'd have some interesting stuff to write for once, instead of the same, lame pap they churn out on a daily basis.

I'm an idealist aren't I?

I'm quite looking forward to this summer. Every year we sweat about who will go first is was Vieira for a few seasons, then Henry, then Cesc, then RVJ but this year who? If Sagna goes i couldn't give a fuck same with Vermaelen and Podolski to an extent.

We all know we won't spend either so its a just a nice relaxing summer at SteveO's BBQ & let everyone else do the sweating and celebrating about transfers :barscarf:

Well, the issue here is that most of those journalists are employed by newspapers. Thus, they don't want to cause a scene as it may affect their employment status. What you'd need is a newspaper with a specific agenda, who could instruct a journalist to be as direct and bold as is needed to cut through the BS. But I don't really see why a newspaper would adopt that agenda, so it probably won't happen anytime soon.

Edit: Piers Morgan comes in for a great deal of criticism, but if he were still editing The Mirror, you can be sure that they would've been publishing some very different appraisals of AW's recent years.

Sky can go f**k themselves.

When was the last time you saw one of these done about the scum apparently considered a big club
Everton and don't give me the they don't have money crap. They have more than Swansea and Birmingham city.

I know what's wrong with our club. I don't need the TV arm of an organisation involved in criminality taking the piss.

What's hilarious is that these tw*ts will spend all of today taking the piss out of us and then from Thursday to get people to watch a none event, they will call our game against judas FC a grand slam match.

No it isn't. Talk about polishing up a turd. Its days like today I thank f**k those wa***rs don't get any subscription money from me.

I dunno, I reckon they can justify the sale of every player who has gone on to achieve success elsewhere. They always have an answer for everything.

There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Agreed. Most relaxed I've ever been going into the silly fucking season that is summer break. Who can they take? Theo? Whoopee-do! Jack? Hardly the end of the world tbh - always fucking injured and probably not as good as we'd all like him to be, if we are being honest about it. :( Sagna? As far past his sell-by date as the LaSAGNA (see what I did there??!!  ) that so hilariously ended the scum's run a few seasons ago. Pod? Great player - wasted by Wenger and always will be - may as well fucking leave. TV5? Meh.

It used to be said that Arsenal players hardly ever left the club and went onto greater things, it was only downhill after The Arsenal, but that is now just another bit of our tradition/folklore/history consigned to the bin in the whore-like scramble for wealth that we have embarked upon.

We all know that players have to leave our club if they want to win medals but to say that table is econmical with the truth is a slight understatement - take hleb for example........how many of those medals did he win whilst warming the barca bench ? The same can also be said about diarra and reyes so whilst they probably do have those medals stashed somewhere in theoir houses, they actually didnt win through any endevour of their own

I would suggest that part of the reason why sky are running with that table is cos they know that rvp will get no small amount of abuse should he turn up on sunday and they are trying to make a defence for him. The fact is that most right minded Gooners know that players can have some justification for leaving us (if money isnt their motive) but facts like that still will not save the returning player from severe abuse

Another old favourite trotted out was the "Well if Wenger ever left Arsenal, all our top players would follow him out the club" line

Nope, another myth blown apart. :rubchin:

Hopefully all the shite ones we have now will leave when he does decide to bugger off :barscarf:
