I wouldn't expect someone from south wales to get what barnet are about. As I said in the 80s Arsenal had a local fanbase which in my opinion has been ruined by the football tourists and the rest of the prawn sarnie brigade that turn up at the emirates, pricing out the loyal passionate local fanbase. We haven't got as many plastics as manure but I cant take anyone who isnt from north london as a serious gooner.northbank123 wrote:What were you expecting - 200 posts along the lines of "great post NFG - how sad"? Enfield were far superior to barnet when I was young, take a look in the history books.nut flush gooner wrote:LOL superior to barnet do me a favour. Enfield are up and coming again now.
I remember one enfield vs barnet game that was on MOTD, I think it was an fa cup tie which barnet won. Anyway why did you support enfield, they where all spuds and barnet where gooners.

So if an Arsenal fan lives in North London and then moves away before having kids - is he allowed to bring his kids up to support Arsenal? Or does he have to stop calling himself a Gooner as soon as he leaves North London?

Re: Barnets last game at Underhill
so i guess the guy who sits next to me who is now registered blind who comes from weymouth every home game and has held a season ticket since 1966 is not a serious gooner?nut flush gooner wrote:I wouldn't expect someone from south wales to get what barnet are about. 91/92
the same weekend we lost 3-2 at notts forest
went 3-0 down the 1st goal bould was caught in possession and him and linighan ended up doing the oakey cokey before woan smahed it in.
we pulled a couple of goals back a lovely chip from merson stands out.
this was the season we lost at 4th tier wrexham as well.
funny the doom and gloom that permeates after winning at fulham
forgotten in the rose tinted past is that georges defence could have bad days as well
that forest game was 1 we were expected to win
we did,nt
we did saturday though.
everythings far from rosy now but it does appear as if everything is complete shit to some.
