what happened when we won the league at Old Trafford?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not winning a trophy was better than winning an undeserved trophy I've never heard such crap in all my life ,you have to wonder about people with tht kind of mentality, but then again when Wenger thinks 4th place is a trophy wht fucking chance have we got.

they didn't give us a guard of honour that night.Instead they played on e of the most spiteful games they ever played. Scholes in particular was nasty through out. After the game the Sky interviewer asked Vieira if he was staying and Paddy refused to answer saying he wanted to enjoy the night. That was taken as him announcing his departure and it was all SSN concentrated on the following morning.

Remember that cup final well,
I actually stayed for longer after the Liverpool game
was at the exit looking back when Paddy lifted that cup...

for me the season after was a far greater source of pride than an undeserved FA cup
It should have felt wrong but I was still pretty f**ked off at them stopoing us from getting 3rd double in a decade by kicking us out of the FA cup in the Invincibles season. Can't remember who the ref was but the amount of fouling they got away with in that game was disgraceful. It was probably old mother Riley.
The pizzagate game ruined our season so picking up the FA cup whilst whiskey nose got sweet FA felt pretty f**king good. They may have had the last word eventually but with the absence of prescience at the time,it felt sooooo good.

Are yiu saying you prefer the champs league run with a lost final,no trophy and the start of our decline to picking up a cup..... that sounds Glory-glory nonsense :?
agree entirely mate
all this bollocks about deserve
if that ball crosses that line more times for you than for the other team you deserve to win
give me lucky arsenal over plucky arsenal any day
the ref in that semi was graham barber i don,t think he had a large wrap sheet mate say like a mike dean
he did find a strange 6 mins in 97/98 in the 3-3 at leicester when bergkamp scored that great hat trick
and he sent parlour off at boro on the opening day of the 01/02 season but it was a warrented 2 yellows.

As I recall we could have been out of sight in the first 10 minutes at Villa Park in 04 but missed a couple of gilt-edged chances.

That United game was so fucking negative but would you rather we had a go and got turned over JD? There were some great performances in the CL run but also a couple of performances where we sat back and hardly pulled up any trees. I certainly remember the United game far more fondly than the Liverpool game which we played far better football in.

I recall us hitting the bar and as the ball dropped with the keeper on the ground, two of our players got in each others way and a weak header was gratefully clutched by the keeper (wasn't Schmeical bit can't remember who) :banghead:

Wenger had a 'mare: Bergkamp on his own up front was idiotic
our best player was vanHorseface, he missed dozens of open goals, one of the luckiest results ever.
Pure fluke, no grit, we gave up so many easy chances.
Contrary to most I've talked to, I thought Paddy was pretty crap that day
Didn't enjoy the game, didn't celebrate much afterwards,
just doesn't mean much to me that Cup win
(would losing and keeping Vieira have been better?)

Great night, will never ever be beaten in my opinion ; was a bit too young to appreciate Anfield '89, so this was my version.

I drove to the match, parked in one of those unofficial match day car parks, and got back to my motor (very late)to find 'MUFC' scratched into the passenger side door, and two tyres let down.

It didn't affect my mood, I floated all the way home.....
