No he is not...... but he will work his socks and put in a shift unlike Sagna who has been out of sorts for a good while now. The guy has probably seen his weekly wage matched by more than half of the under performing SOB's on the pitch. None more so than Walcott just up the flank ahead of him.
Where is the man management, where is the reward? 2 years ago Sagna was the best full back in the world. Bar none.
He should have been rewarded as such.
I don't give a fuck who plays for us, nobody has the right to stop putting a shift in when they're wearing the red shirt regardless of how shit their team-mates are. Especially when he's been picking up his wage through two long injury spells in the past 18 months.
I'm a big fan of blaming Wenger for every slight thing that goes wrong in my life but Sagna going from top class to comedic calamity is a bit much to pin on him. The player has to be taking a long hard look at himself.
Sagna's a fucking idiot.
Never mind faith, I've got a P forty f***ing 5 for Sagna....c**t.
Sagna was horrible. Hope he knows why we didnt give him an extension because that was pitiful

When you have been one of your failing clubs best performing players for a number of years, not months, you get a bit of leeway.
When you turn up one game in five and dial in the other four, you're gonna get criticised. So Bendtner, Vela, Walcott, Denilson, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Eboue and I could go on and on, you're gonna get called out.
Sagna ain't at his best right now, but his half best is more than we keep in reserve.
Trust me, Jenkinson is not the messiah.

No-one right.
And since it isn't the right backs primary role to provide that service, I ain't gonna give a fuck about that.
Christ sake man, Lee Dixon is afforded legendary status and rightly so, but what could that mother fucker do from the by line?

Just to add theo is 100 times better at crossing the ball than sagna, ever time sagna gets the ball with acres of space un der no pressure whatsoever I always say the same thing to whoever I'm watching the game with....."I bet this doesn't clesr the FIRST man".
And it was exactly the same today...total shiteness

What a load of utter bollocks. Watch the tapes back and you'll see that Dixon crossed killer balls in for many, many goals. From Wright, to Smith, to Anelka, to Henry, and to all the others in between.Number 5 wrote:Christ sake man, Lee Dixon is afforded legendary status and rightly so, but what could that mother fucker do from the by line?
Sagna, on the other hand, may have been responsible for one, maybe two assists in his entire Arsenal career.

I make you right buddy - sagna has been, up to this season, our best right full for the past 20 years and that ain't no exageration. There can be no defence or justification for the way he has been treated in the contract negotiations. If anybody suggests that the offer was derisory because of his injury concerns then let me point out the extensions offered to diaby, rosicky, Gibbs and rvp in recent seasons

That being said, sagna and his attitude haven't been good enough this season and that is unacceptable imo. Whether his demeanor is as a result of the contract snub, maybe it is borne from frustrations over a lack of forward planning for the club or maybe it is just a realisation that success in this team with these players is never gonna happen but as long as he is under the employment of our club then the least we should expect is 100% commitment. All that being said we have plenty of weaker players that should be a bigger source of ire than sagna

Firstly, I haven't put forward any of those arguments so the fact you're up in arms and trotting them out in response to me probably shows just how defensive you are. All I've done is put forward what I consider to be some balanced and reasonable criticism of the way he's performed and his motivation over the last few months.Number 5 wrote:Protected from criticism? Secondly, this isn't about any other players. Why are you producing a list of players - how does that make Sagna's performances or attitude any better? Unless anybody is saying he's the worst player we've had or otherwise comparing him to those they're not really relevant (particularly as 4 of the 7 haven't been at the club for two seasons).
Thirdly, the fact he's been a good player for us doesn't mean he shouldn't be criticised for months of poor performances and certainly doesn't mean his lack of effort, commitment and today discipline should be excused. It beggars belief that some people think fans shouldn't have the right to question these aspects of his game just because he's been one of our better players. Especially when the same people regularly question most other players' dedication and commitment.

Best since viv Anderson imo although Anderson wasn't at the club long enough for proper comparison

Fair dues, we all have our own opinions. For me though, Dixon is a true legend. Won league titles in three different decades and cups galore. Was patchy in the first few years with some comedy own goals, but turned into a true great who had great longevity (14 years).augie wrote:VoiceOfReason wrote:Sagna better than Dixon and/or Lauren? What you mean when getting the ball into the box early and often was the priority? When the shape of the team and the focus of the set up was to give him something to aim at?VoiceOfReason wrote:What a load of utter bollocks. You cannot indicate a willingness to change that policy whilst rewarding a brainless greyhound with a 100k per week deal in case he actually becomes good enough but at the same time snub one of our most consistent players with a 1 year extension offer
