We aint done too bad if were not trying then, top 4 yes please.g88ner wrote:You don't think we've tried in recent weeks?Brady's left peg wrote: By the sound of it we have a very different interpretation of what constitutes trying.- fair enough.

Fair enoughBrady's left peg wrote:As an example...........If you consider losing your concentration enough to pass the ball straight to Judas, and then take him out in the box then yes. If you call our total lack of movement in the final third against a relegated club then yes again. But as I said, different people have differing interpretations.g88ner wrote:You don't think we've tried in recent weeks?Brady's left peg wrote: By the sound of it we have a very different interpretation of what constitutes trying.- fair enough.

Sportsman often play poorly, lack confidence or play with a fear that inhibits their performance, and I don't think that necessarily means they're not trying.
As for the Sagna example... he played a shockingly poor pass and then compounded the error by attempting to win the ball back too quickly. I thought it was idiotic and very poor, but not for a second did I think he wasn't trying.
But, as you say, people interpret what they see differently.

In fact, defeat for chavs tomorrow puts pressure on the chavs as well
It was essential to win today, and we managed it (just!). Who gives a shit about performance; we know we're an average team, and 29pts from 36pts was surely beyond the expectations of 99% of our fan base... yet here we are! credit where it's due, I reckon. I certainly didn't expect it.

So here we are, supporting an average team of 'triers', who at times find it hard to pass to each other or actually shoot at goal and often defend diabolically. This is my team and it's f***** hard and painful to watch

Re: QPR GAME THREAD
True, it can be painful to watch at times but I came to terms with how average we are a long time ago, so the fact we've recently found a winning formula that gets us points on a regular basis despite our average/poor performances is definitely a positive for me! - especially when it directly affects Sp*rsThierry 3-8-99 wrote:So here we are, supporting an average team of 'triers', who at times find it hard to pass to each other or actually shoot at goal and often defend diabolically. Its great that it affects the scum and may lead to us finishing above them but in the grand scheme of things that wont change anything. Why accept what we have become instead of voicing a need for change. Year on year we have regreased and its not something we should just accept.True, it can be painful to watch at times but I came to terms with how average we are a long time ago, so the fact we've recently found a winning formula that gets us points on a regular basis despite our average/poor performances is definitely a positive for me! - especially when it directly affects Sp*rs
On another note can the new Redmember please be ignored or banned as every post in the last few days has been troll behaviour and designed to wind people up.

The scum were outplayed at home against southampton, and nicked a win, do you think they give a fuck and are depressed?

We can't buy players in the next 2 weeks, so I've had to accept that this is the average squad we're stuck with until the end of the season... and for an average squad, I've been pleasantly surprised with how we've turned things around in the last couple of months; taking 29pts from 36pts, and from a position of no hope we could end up overhauling Sp*rs again.
Obviously we're not happy with Wenger, the squad and the limited ambition of the club, but we've moaned about it for so long and will do all summer and beyond... but to moan at the players despite what they're doing seems a little churlish and mean spirited to me.
Re: QPR GAME THREAD
But we are not Spurs. The day we compare ourselves with them tells you how far down Wenger has taken us.We used to be Utd's rivals now its all about finishing above a team who havent finished above us for 18 yearsafcforever wrote:The scum were outplayed at home against southampton, and nicked a win, do you think they give a fuck and are depressed?

Anyone else think that the great myth that Podolski would instantly be a star striker has been laid to rest?
Prefer him wide left or perhaps number 10.
We need to buy a striker this summer.

The man wasn't a top striker at Bayern and is proving to be the German Kevin Phillips i.e. a fella who will always score goals for the smaller clubsQuartzGooner wrote:Anyone else think that the great myth that Podolski would instantly be a star striker has been laid to rest?

It has been painfully evident since the minute The Montpellier Muppet shanked it wide against Sunderland on day 1 that Lord Shitforbrains needed to sign a striker but hey ho......perhaps Bendtner / Park / Gervinho / Giroud will turn into the world beaters we know they are
How much in transfer fees and wages has Lord Cuntface wasted on that sorry bunch
