Patrick Barclay

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Basically doesn't have a clue why we've defended properly the last two games and admits as much so declares "credit must go to the manager". Thank fuck we no longer miss van Persie, don't let the 24 points tell you otherwise. Given that we can mathematically still win the league I'm surprised we weren't tipped for a late title tilt.

It's a bizarre situation where Wenger is measured against the backdrop of his own shortcomings and modest targets. He has invented this 4th place trophy and turned us into a team that has for years shipped in embarrassing goals week in week out, as well as sticking a middle finger up to the FA Cup which forms a huge part of our proud heritage. Instead of looking where we were a decade ago and the size and resources of the club and judge him relative to that, he is judged based on his own targets to the exclusion of all reason.

Hence we defend well for 2 games and people are falling over themselves to herald another false dawn: if this was United or Citeh nobody would be proclaiming major changes on the back of 2 games. And the 'WOB' are the ones who are short-sighted and reactionary???

Why do you insist on reading things and then getting annoyed by what is written the gutter press ?
Similarly Wenger, since he first appeared at Arsenal has always talked complete gobbledygook in interviews.
I didn't listen when he was successful, and am too embarrassed to hear what he says as we have slipped so very slowly down the pecking order.
Why bother to annoy yourselves ,its not good for you all this stress.

Ahhh.....my good old mate Paddy Barclay on hand with his insight straight after a victory that apparently "makes us contenders". Yes we remember well Paddy after the 1-1 draw at City how all of us impatient morons were proved wrong by you and Lord A-Hole, as went on an all conquering run thereafter that saw us win..........err fuck all again you loser.

I think I saw Paddy masturbating in the press box at the end there....

Just you wait till Monday, Evening Standard readers.....prepare yourself for some of the most condescending shite you've ever read in your lives. I'm predicting a "all those calling for Wenger's head in December have been proven wrong yet again"

He wouldn't surround himself with "ungrateful morons" like us. Remember he was appalled at those who sang "you don't know what you're doing to Lord Wenger"

My dad hangs on Barclay's every word  - he looks intelligent and has worked on the broadsheets, so you'd think he'd be worth listening to, but some of the drivel he's written about Wenger and the ungrateful Arsenal fans whenever we string a few results together is maddening :x

Read all Barclay's column and not just the Arsenal ones, he may be an AW fan but he saves his biggest love in for the scum.

If they win jammily or draw jammily like against Wigan he writes it up yet in the same article we pull the same result, it's unconvincing and lucky :?

But his real a**e-licking is saved for Bale.
