End of the season thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Any chance to relive this:

Now I know Newcastle fans suffer from major delusions of grandeur but surely believing you're on a physical par with a police horse is worse than most?!

"Who's the greatest centre half the world has ever seen, Charlie Hurley is his name", absolute legend.

Well, the result yesterday has made things a bit less tense at the bottom, pretty much looks like Southampton upwards are safe (saints have 39 points but a good goal difference so Wigan would either need a massive goal difference swing to overtake them or they'd need 6 points from two games which I can't see happening). Without tempting fate too much, SAFC are probably safe (we should get something at home to Southampton and even if its just a draw that would, again due to goal difference, leave Wigan needing 2 wins from 2). Can never be too certain with Sunderland like but we should be fine.

So now it seems, imo, to be down to one of Norwich, Newcastle and Wigan. Norwich and Newcastle 3 points clear of Wigan and goal difference pretty much level. I just hope that Newcastle lose to QPR and that'll mean that Wigan will be in with a fighting chance of overtaking them on the last day of the season as long as they avoid a mauling against Arsenal. Lose narrowly to Arsenal and they can beat Villa on the final day whilst your lot tear the mags goal difference to shreds, relegating the horse punchers. I hope this is what happens but it looks likely that Wigan will simply lose to Arsenal and then probably lose again to Villa.

As for the battle to see who finishes higher out of Arsenal and Spurs (I'm not calling it the battle for 4th any more as its obvious that no-one on here really gives too much of a shit about the 4th place trophy  ), that should be quite close still. I reckon it might be a draw tonight but certainly can't see Spurs winning. Arsenal with two winnable games to come should be able to seal it from here but it'd be canny if it went to the last game of the season, hopefully SAFC can be free from the threat of relegation and can instead spend our time irritating Spurs and helping to cost them a CL place.
