9th highest - Modeste 12 goals (the guy who couldn't get a look in when Blackburn were relegated)

Their goal tallies for this season alone must outnumber the total league goals they scored during their entire time in England
We could do with Kalou :)
Don't start McDowell off with that one again :D

Hooray, another League 2 kid, just what we need. THIS is our big signing this summer! :barscarf:
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :cussing: :fryingpan: :fryingpan: :hammer: :fryingpan: :duh:
Gilobert Imbula :coffeespit: Perfect, sign him up along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Geoffrey Kondogbia!

In other news, tomorrow's Daily Star (lolz) reckon we're in for Rooney at £25m :coffeespit: Would we forgive him for the 50th game dive?

Fair point...

That said, I think it's a general concern that after signing so many average or even woeful ligue 1 players in recent years, it therefore follows that signing ligue 2 players is even more likely to fail.

In any case, I think topgoon is just saying we've had enough of gambling on potential and need to start signing some genuine top quality!

Tons of links here:

http://arsenalghana.wordpress.com/2013/ ... e-reports/

Reckons Ashley Williams, Begovic, Higuain and Jovetic all coming.

Think Ashley Williams and Begovic are believable, but I cannot see how Jovetic and Higuain would come unless we sell Gervinho plus manage to offload many of the loanees such as Denilson, Bendtner, Chamakh, Miyaichi, Santos, Park etc.

An English player signed by Wenger for a fee in excess of £20m and on wages of between 150k-200k per week. I can just see it....oops, I've woken up

I'd welcome him but would never happen in a million years. For a start he's on like 220k wages.

According to reports in the Spanish media, Arsenal have an agreement in principle with Real Madrid and their Argentinean star Gonzalo Higuain. The 25-year old striker will cost the Gunners around £19 million, which is pretty reasonable for a player of his calibre.

Just as with the transfer saga surrounding Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina, the main rivals to Arsenal in the deal are the Italian champions Juventus. Although personal terms and transfer fees are apparently agreed, the deal could still collapse if Arsenal fail to finish in the top four, giving our next two games even more importance.

Higuain has been at Madrid for over six years, scoring 120 goals and providing 45 assists in his 262 games. He scored their equaliser last night against Espanyol, but it was not enough to keep Barcelona from being crowned Spanish champions. The striker was nearly sold last summer, but his hard work and form convinced Jose Mourinho to keep him and he has repaid that faith by scoring 17 times this season, which is better than his main rival at the club Karim Benzema.

Higuain is also an integral part of the Argentinean national team and has a great record of 19 goals in 32 games for them. There is no confirmation of this from either club, but the Spanish media seem convinced, so hopefully there is something in it
