Apart from the middle third of the game we were comfortable, but that middle third was as uncomfortable as any we have experienced (endured) all season.
Team wise I thought Szczesney was poor, especially on the ball Kos cleared. Sagna drove me mad, his decision making on the ball bordered on clueless at times. Central defence were good, Gilbbs was good going forward but was easily beaten twice by McManaman . Midfield worked well, Santi was outstanding, Ramsey worked hard, thought Arteta had a good game. Theo frustrated me, because in the first ten minutes it looked as if he could have a field day but he dropped the pace, or maybe the team dropped the pace and he suffered. Pod for me was quiet but scored two opportunist goals. IT proves to me that he is the most clinical striker in the club and any thoughts of not keeping him are pure madness.
Very sorry to see Wigan and Martinez go, I imagine Martinez will be back quicker than Wigan. From a selfish point of view Wigan , if Man Utd are not playing at home the same day, is a great inexpensive away day for Irish Gooners.

Agree with most of that but feel you're a little hard on Feo and easy on Tets
(prob to do with my expectation levels for thos two players)
with Arteta out who do we play at centre mid? Long term I'd like to see Verminator tried there
but Barcodes is too key a game for experiments. JW hasn't looked himself.
Maybe leCoq ?

that is pretty clear dude.
Yes, sure thing, I bow to your superior knowledge and wisdom.
Not knowledge, wisdom or opinion I quoted you, are you saying your account was hacked?
generally don't believe those on here (or Gooners on Twitter) who claim they want us to lose games/not win things
always unsurprised to see the backtrack
I'm not backtracking I just don't want Wenger to be here anymore, I hate the *word censored* with a passion, if we win something, I'm sure the club will give him an extended contract, if on the other hand he said he was going after next season, regardless of winning a trophy then I'll get behind him again, but I can't see this happening as he is a greedy arrogant bastard.

Perhaps you should put it on a separate thread and put it to a vote, how many members on here want Wenger sacked? 80pct maybe, how many of them would change their mind, if, we won a trophy next season, be it the Carling Cup or say the F.A. Cup? Remember that Wenger, in recent seasons had treated both competitions with disdain and has only lately changed tact by playing stronger teams (but still can't win a thing), I'm just putting it out there as if he won the Carling Cup, I wouldn't want him to get a 3 year contract on the back of winning just that and I'm pretty sure, there's many on there that wouldn't either. Anyway, that's my twopenneth!

Agree with this apart from the insults aimed at Wenger, but yes regardless if he won an FA Cup or crisp packet cup I still think it is time for a change at the end of his contract.
strange straw man argument - who are you disagreeing with Frank?
I've not heard anybody say they would give Wenger a new contract purely on the basis of a cup win

That glorious day at St James's Park edges ever closer. I remember in 2006 how Wenger said we must never allow ourselves to be in the same position again........

......awaits inevitable uninformed comment about how "the game has changed since then"

Err....yep. The PL is worse.....and we're further off the pace

time to go out - sunk so low I'm clicking SteeevOs posts
yes the league is worse - but there is more strength concentrated at the top
in '06 Citeh were not contenders, their new money transforms everything

We were embroiled in a battle for 4th in 2008/09 and were saved by a combination of Arshavin's cock-tease of a debut half-season and O'Neill managing a Villa implosion when they were well clear of us - this whilst Citeh and their money romped to a 10th-placed finish (although at least we did reach two cup semi-finals, even if we did exit them both in rather embarrassing fashion).

And how does Citeh's money transform our position relative to clubs like United and Spurs?

Eh? :?

You think it's easier now than pre-2006 to finish top 4? :? surely it's become more clogged at the top with Chelsea and Citeh's money forcing them into the top positions, plus ManUre's guaranteed champions league place as well. Then throw Liverpool and Sp*rs into the mix and it's not easy.

It's definitely more difficult, surely?! - And even if you think it's not, I'm amazed by your patronising "uninformed comment" remark for anyone who thinks the landscape has changed since 2006 :?

True, but why does Citeh spending shitloads justify us drifting further away from United every season? Or letting Spurs close the 37-point gap we had over them in 2007/09 to the point where we are now neck and neck with them?

To be fair, Sp*rs could end up on 72pts... so surely there's a very strong argument that Sp*rs have actually improved and closed the gap on everyone?
