As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I really don't see us doing any better next year, and can't see why anyone would think we will.
You are not alone in your fragility
To see why someone like me thinks we will it is perhaps necessary to try and see things how I see them. It is no secret that I feel the apparent "slide downwards" we have experienced over the last few years is in fact not a slide down at all. I think we have held our own and during that time consolidate ourselves financially ('ourselves' of course being fuck all to do with me)
I agree with many about various players being now deadwood but I also think we have an excellent core and talent and a very good 'team' overall. I of course also believe that we will buy bigger than perhaps we have done - albeit one or two rather than half a dozen names, and our recent run is no 'freak' occurence but a sign of how things are shaping out.
indeed you were which is of course rather reassuring.
I'm happy to have brought you such comfort.
and I you
Although that would depend on whether or not I agreed with your supposition - as opposed to just understanding it!!
Maybe, but surely saying you were happy to have brought me comfort, indicates that the exchange between us has brought that happiness and while I know I'm equating happiness with comfort here, I reckon that does the job
No, it means I was happy to learn that my considerable wisdom and expertise was finally being acknowledged and appreciated by someone on this godforsaken forum!!

lt depends on how we add to the squad...... I have gone for 5th place based on our current squad. If the scousers and scum strengthen that could be 6th. On the flip side if we sign the right players in the right positions we could make 3rd, as for talk of having a tilt at winning the title........ no chance! That would require a manager with some tactical nous and an ambitious board, neither of which we have or are likely to have in the foreseeable!
4th without any doubt. A Chelsea team managed by Mourinho means that the top 3 is out of sight already. Pellegrini will get the freedom of the petrodollars bank account judging by this season's failure and bring with him some top players from Spain like Isco, whilst United will still be too strong for us.
4th at the highest, 5th at the lowest. Another thrill a minute season where the outcome to within one place can be predicted before a ball has been kicked

Yes Wenger will deliver yet another fourth place trophy. But it could be our last for some considerable time if the great man does decide to leave. Doesn't bare thinking about.
