IF Wenger went into the transfer market and bought all the players we need (I know highly unlikely but IF) and went on to win the PL would everyone who wants him to resign now be in favour of him signing a contract extension at the end of the 2013/2014 season.

Anyhow just a question.....
The problem is that the question is so hypothetical that I feel sick reading it!

We all KNOW he never will admit he got it wrong and change the system and add the true quality we need. But, unlike a few on here, I don't hate the man, and if he somehow miraculously turned it round and won the PL again then yep sure as fuck I'd want him to stay. I have no personal issues here, I want someone, anyone, in charge that will win trophies for Arsenal. If it's Arsene or if it's Steve Bould or if it's Joe Bloggs I don't care. Arsenal first, everything else second. 8)

That's how I see it, I do believe however that a few on here are so anti Wenger that even winning a title would not change their opinions because as you rightly say Wenger doesn't like to admit he's wrong even to the detriment of his squad of players, likewise a few posters on here would be loathe to admit they were wrong (eventually  ).

Like DB10 said, the chances of wenger turning it around are so tiny that there is a greater possibiity of me winning the euromilions lottery tonight and that aint gonna happen either

I do hate wenger nowadays and I dont feel one bit ashamed to say it - not alone wil he not spend the money required to make us great again but he wont or cant see where we need to spend it nor can he identify players of the required quality  He is incapable of doing tactics and that is a fact - a system that doesnt suit the players we have, a safety first policy that see's us playing 1 up top even against bradford ( ) and his usage/not usage of subs is a fcuking joke :x Is it possible to turn all of that around ? I dont believe for one second that it is but IF he guided us back to a league title again, a league title that we won on our own merits (as opposed to everybody else having a 'mare of a season), then I would be prepared to give him a second chance but make no mistake spending money recruiting quality players is oinly part of the problem and everything else including his attitude/demeanour would have to change too

I hate the caaaant though 8)

All any supporter can ask for, and I have used this description before, is a manager whose objective is to build the strongest team/squad he can with all the resources at his disposal, and let the people who hold the purse strings worry about the finance.
I can't say that about Wenger.

Why can't you?

Maybe it is the board that restricts his spending, until he leaves and writes his book (please be better than DB's effort    ) on all affairs Arsenal then I don't think we can say for certain.

Yes we do have a large wage bill but it's the 4th highest in the league and we came 4th.

I would imagine if you compare totnumbs overall spend in wages and transfers net spend then I would have thought their outlay is comparable.

Personally think we'll spend pretty big this summer - break our transfer record, maybe more than once
(I did think it was inevitable we would buy a big striker this winter)

Although it was something I once very much looked forward to, not sure how much of it I'd actually believe given some of the bullshite we've been fed these past few years.  :banghead:

Clichy was asked about the sacking of Mancini and he said that he wasn't surprised stating "that when things go well the manager gets the credit but when things don't go well it is only natural that the manager takes the blame"........obviously a thought process that doesn't apply to AFC or to the akb sheep  :x

Good question but for me no. I hate Wenger so much now that I don't think anything he does from this point on can change that. He'd have to rescue me from drowning or something ... but football wise I don't think its possible he can make me respect him again like I used to and want him to stay.

There is also damage he has done that cannot be repaired.

One of my Arsenal mates reckons next time we win something (and we will one day) it will feel better than ever ... but I'm not so sure. The last time we won a trophy (and all the times before that) I loved the players, the manager and ALL of our supporters. I don't feel that way about any of them anymore so I don't know how its gonna feel. I still want something, but I fear Wenger's smug grin and that annoying 'I told you so' smirk tainting it. Not to mention the AKB's who will say they've been proved right ... even though they have already been proved wrong!

I'm now anti-AW because he's not maintained the strength of the team and hasn't won anything. If we suddenly signed two or three world class players and won a couple of competitions (especially the CL) I would happily put up with the "meental strength" and "remarkable charactair" bollocks he comes out with.
