Re: TV5 to be sold....

I wouldn't want to see him at DM - I have to disagree with your view on his positional discipline. To me he's always seemed prone to being dragged out of position and too keen to chase the ball, and this often seems to end with him realising his mistake and diving in recklessly to try and win the ball anyway.

I'm also not sure his anticipation is good enough - yes he responds well to what is happening immediately in front of him as centre-half but this isn't much use if you've pressed or dived in at the wrong time as a DM. I think the fact that it's Kos and BFG who have prospered (and not him) from the improvement in stability in the last few months probably reflects his comparative lack of positional discipline and tactical awareness.

When the other two have been fit we haven't missed him, the problem once again is cover, is Veramalen happy to fill that role? I doubt it. That said I still feel that rather than provide cover if he should leave, we should actually be looking to improve on what we have as first choice.
Kos and to a lesser extent Mert have done well recently, but I don't see that partnership being one that will lead us to trophies.

he is not a good passer, I know you would think that he was, but he isn't.

He is a CB, and if he wants to play every week he can move. I would actually like to keep him in the squad rather than sell.

I do not think it is a total mystery what has happened to Vermaelen.
He had a serious ankle injury, and it affected form and confidence.
Add that to who knows what going on behind the scenes with Bould and defensive coaching "arguments" and it has meant loss of form.

I doubt he will want to stay as third choice.

Verm for me has lost a lot of pace since that injury. That being said the goal he was responsible for conceading at OT was unacceptable.

I hope he does, Adams wasn't the greatest at his age, and turned out to be superb as we all know.
I love Merts attitude, typical German.
You do realise that Per Mertesacker is 28 years old don't you?
Of course, Adams just got better and better, he wasn't called the donkey for no reason.
Wenger turned Adams into the player he turned out to be, when George was the manager, all he did was lump it up field.
I've read some bollocks on here, but this takes the biscuit! A typical Wenger arselicking soundbite that! !

Deeply ignorant and stupid statement.

Adams was a top top CH and leader long before Wenger arrived. All Wenger did was extend his career by better training and diet regimes and encourage him to play the ball more, but the technique and skill to do that was all Adams’. I don’t know how old you are or how long you’ve followed The Arsenal, but your comment reeks of the typical JCL AKB twats that think Arsenal was formed in 1996 by Arsene Wenger!

Based on how he played in the last 10 games of the season it should be Koschelny. He suddenly became a rock that we have not seen in many years. Its taken far far too long but at last we seem to have a decent partnership between him and Mertasacker.
