I have only done a little reading on it, but my understanding is that for a player to get the same take-home pay at the end of the day, Monaco only has to pay about 30% of the bill relative to a team like Paris St Germain.

It's so advantageous that all the teams in Ligue 1 tried to prevent Monaco joining. Monaco had to pay a sum of 200m Euros in order to get in. However, that's basically bribe money and now they can free-wheel and spend whatever they like.

They're operating on a whole different set of rules, really. Another billionaire has bought a toy to play with and the rest of the world's game suffers for it.

So basically the FLP have told Monaco they can't play in Ligue 1 unless they relocate, and Monaco have ignored this with a judicial decision expected on June 20. Meanwhile they're spending like there's no tomorrow. What a fucking mess, and it will only get worse if the court happens to rule against Monaco and it's inevitably taken to the European Court of Justice and the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

I'm not surprised the LFP look like they might have bottled it and demanded a huge one-off payment instead.

If I was a millionaire I could find a number of better things to do than watch Ronaldo galloping down the wing . I could pay someone to fill in for me though. So everyone's happy!
