Has Arsene’s Arsenal made me eat my words? (31/3)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Has Arsene’s Arsenal made me eat my words? (31/3)

usual thread starter… Denilson at centre back? Did I read that right? Felix, my old pal, you’ve been out of the country too long! I’ll blame your brain frying in the Bali heat back in December. Still, who’d have seen Kolo Toure playing there back in March 2003? Maybe there is a visionary in our midst… 8)

EAT YOUR WORDS!!!!

YOU SHOULD BE MADE TO EAT EVERY REMAINING COPY OF YOUR LAST ISSUE.

"CATCH US IF YOU CAN"!!! THEY`VE NOT ONLY CAUGHT US AND GONE PAST. BUT FOR A MINOR MIRACLE ON SAT,THEY WOULD HAVE DISAPPEARED OUT OF SIGHT OVER THE HORIZON!

er... this article wasn't written by me, so i've not offered to eat any words.
you're lumping everything printed in the issue and on the website as some kind of consistent message, when we are just a platform for different arsenal fans' opinions.

as for the last issue. i've already responded to the comments on our last cover line. but once more with feeling...
we said 'catch us if you can'
they did
and... :?:
we didn't say - 'you can't catch us' or 'we are the champions'
and you think the players have even heard of 'the gooner'? you think we have that much influence?

you are a bit touchy today.

even if you did not offer to eat your words you should be doing so.

if they saw the dozy front page any player who had heard of the gooner would now be wishing he hadn`t.

maybe the players do see it from time to time.maybe the players got complacent. maybe the gooner made a small contribution to that complacency. maybe the gooner contributed to fans complacency and arrogance and that rubbed off on the players. are you telling me ade`s total uselessness in recent weeks since that bloody song started being sung is coincidental-he gave an interview recently admitting he sings the song himself

maybe you could inc in your end of season survey a vote on reasons for blowing the league and avote for dosiest front page of the season

and flash gunner you are right but seeing those words about eating my words made me want to kick the ed .

flash gunner - the moment i saw that front page i just knew we would blow it - maybe completely bananas and irrational but i feel better blaming gooner ed

haha...actually, I threw my copy of THAT edition of the Gooner away! I just couldn't look at it anymore

Following the collapse of our league form, the "Catch us if you can" headline acted as a constant reminder of just how wrong everything has gone recently!

To be fair, it was an obvious title for the editors of the Gooner to run with...but of course, after all that has happened, it does look a little silly now.

oh well.

All I learnt from his interview was that Adebayor is tone deaf. Not too good either at avoiding offside traps...?

I agree that Traore should be tried as left midfield, he is powerful coming forward.

I do not think Denilson should ever be used as centre back.

He is too small.

I see him as a passing midfielder who can also hold the ball well and keep a good position to intercept the opposition's passes, sort of combining the qualities of Cesc and Gilberto.

I do not see him as a tackling midfielder or defender on how he has played so far.

u must be barkin mad....now gallas and toure aren;t very good at dealing with the aerial threats...u think denilson will make a good stopper....i'm not even sure he'll be a very good holding midfielder..he;s a replacement for cesc and thatz it.........but if u ponder over this issue a little more.....it might not be such a bad idea playing him at the flanks...atleast that way Diaby won;t be able to make a fool out of himself like he does every week.....but with Eboue and Hleb sure to start against Liverpool ....game time for Denilson looks very unlikely. and if anything were to happen to Fabregas or Flamini ....Gilberto would fill in not Denilson
