F*&k Off Laurent Koscielny

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

So a few want Kos gone ?
Along with Sagna, Vermalean, Cheszney so what kind of a defence will we have left ??

He is a decent defender, scored 4th placed trophy winning goals in the last 2 seasons, I'm not too sure what more people expect from him ?

I want us to build on what we have at the moment, get rid of dross (which Kos is not) and try to start competing.

I would love him to stay. I can see him becoming a class defender if he keeps his mind on his game.

He wants to win, said he would want to win them here - in so many words.

Stop getting your g-strings in a twists, guys.

I don't think people do want to get rid of Kos but what he said was insulting to the club, even if it is what we say on here every day.

And that's what I don't understand- if we, while venting out spleen, say we lack ambition, that we should stop attending / buying season tickets until the owner / manager show some kind of determination to actually attempt to win stuff then why is their such an outrage when a player (or ex players aplenty) say the exact same thing ?

It surely Kranks up the pressure on Kronke (even if ever so slightly0 to pull his bloody finger out and force Wenker into the better end of the transfer market ?

The first player to make these kind of public utterings was henry and since that we have seen similar public comments from cesc and rvp - if these world class players were unable to exert any pressure on wenker and the board then what chances of a middle of the road player like kos having any influence ?
I also should point out that we as fans have earned the right to vent on such matters after a lifetime of financial and emotional commitment - people like us will be Gooners long after players like kos depart from our club

The thing is players like him think they are better than they are. Show ambition yes! But really he should knuckle down and get in with it. I never rated him to be honest, an accident waiting too happen as we have seen, with a few flashes of inspiration.

Unbelievable! Arsenal forum telling one of our own players to fcuk off. Selective interpretation or misinterpretation of media articles abound, but this, as others have mentioned, is just an embarrassment as a thread title.

My point is that at this time of the year Kos would normally be hanging with rest of his amoeba friends on a beach somewhere ,so it's calculated, probably by his agent.
Secondly he was absolute kaka in his first 1.5 seasons and since then he's been consistently erratic.
That he played well against the giants of QPR and Norwich belies the fact that he is still short of being anything world class ,gaff prone and gets owned by large attackers.
What bugs me is that despite him being a contributing member of the Arsenal Holiday club he has the gall to question Arsenals ambition as a prelude to getting either a pay rise or a transfer.
He never turned Barca down that's more agent bollocks ,he got a fat pat rise and a long term contract for his outstanding contributions to Arsenals mediocrity.
That people want to sign him is more a reflection of the paucity of good defenders worldwide right now rather than his growing stature,I agree he is much improved but word class ...........nah .
This being said if he wants to leave then as the title says fuck off,Id rather have 11 Perry Groves types in the team that some of the pampered prima donna's we have now .
If that embarrasses any of you lily livered luvvies then tough !

Still do not get why you are so upset Herd.
It's all a game.
Wenger speaks to the players through the press (or so says Myles Palmer) and they speak back to him through the press.
And if the man who delivers the milk to the Queensland Road security guard's cat wants to criticise the club for not spending, then let him do so.
Same goes for Koscielny; as it does for Muse, Abu Qatada or Samantha Power.
I might not like the last three but I want us to buy better players.

P.S. My opinion is that whatever his faults Koscielny is our best regular centre back.

Yeah let's have 11 Perry Groves' and get relegated. Is that what you want? Wonderful idea.

As explained I would rather have 11 players who showed no holds barred commitment to the cause and to the club than the mercenary overpaid players that infest our place now .

Is that so much to ask for @ 50/60/70/80 K a week that we pay these *word censored* ?

I severely struggle to like a single Arsenal player anymore, I have hopes for many but have been let down more times than a munter at the altar so I'm a tad cynical !

Pre the lord wenger we won the league and many other trophy's with Martin Zico Hayes,Ian Allison ,Nial Quin, etc ad nausea and we never got relegated then !

Kos can fcuk off ,and so can anyone of the same ilk !

Number 7 is Liam Brady ,but number 8 is Perry Groves !

I agree that the story has been blown out of proportion but Kos isn't faultless in this scenario. Kos is an employee of the club and so has a greater duty of care to show more consideration and respect. Comparing his comments to our own is misdirection. As fans, it is the nature of many to criticise, as employees we cannot be so transparent. Especially when it's the national press asking the questions.

The questions he was asked were very easy to sidestep with answers such as "I'm sure Arsenal will compete". It is irrelevant if he believes it or not. He is paid very well by the Arsenal and his answers were at best naive at worse disrespectful. I think there should be an element of gratitude for players like Kos who were more of a gamble than the likes of Cazorla. We gave him a CL platform that he perhaps would have struggled to achieve elsewhere. That gratitude should have provided more of a buffer against naive comments, especially as we have only seen 3 months of quality performances.

Todays footballers are schooled from an early age on speaking to the press. Perhaps training wasn't intense at the Ligue 2 level we plucked him from.
