SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I've got a good feeling mate.

Guardian are not known for printing bollocks.

Higuain would be a hero here.

Same here, transfer windows are torture for Arsenal, our experience of transfer deadline day is i would imagine the way Muslims experience Christmas Day, expensive presents for everyone but them.

I really hope you're right, mate.

I don't doubt Higuain will be a sensation at Arsenal but IF he does sign and we don't win anything it will be a new summer of transfer speculation next year. Man City, United et al.

"The prices go always up at the start of the transfer market and go down in the last week. Sometimes as well they go up in the last week, but it depends," he said. :? do they give economics degree for free in Strasbourg?

"Most of the time they go down in the last week and you know as well that 90 per cent of transfer activity happens in the last week if not in the last 48 hours."

Arsene Wenger The naked Emperor. jan 2013

And when they were up, they were up,
And when they were down, they were down,
And when they were only half-way up,
They were neither up nor down.

There's only one Arsene Wenger! :barscarf:

What contract length has Theo got - very short i hope as he only has a go when he's renegotiating. Is the Napoli rumour a possibility?

What is Kaka's situation? Maybe his star could be resurrected.

Cesc ain't going anywhere by the way UNLESS and here's a theory....... Arsenal agrees to let Cesc go to United subject to Rooney coming to us. All we need is Song, Clichy and Nasri to go to United and them win a title and the Wenger haters will have their proof. It is interesting that all of these players left and won a title in their first season with another club (throw in Cesc and RVP as well).

I still think we need a murderous DM......someone a little bit loopy.....
walcott 6 goals 4 assists since he signed his new contract which takes him up to 2016
should have just let the 22 million pound player walk out on a free at the end of the year?
every misplaced pass or mistake will now receive the[and thats worth 100 grand a week comment]
we have done some poor dealings and i really don,t give a fuck how the show runs as long as it does
and much of it is not footballing wise but this deal made good sense
its a shame we did,nt apply the same sense in regards the sale of rvp and fabregas prefering to play the role of victims

Andre Santos sorry to return to Arsenal after Gremio loan

Santos enjoyed his time at Gremio but the club could not afford any permanent deal and so he has admitted his disappointment at having to go back to Arsenal.

He told Radio Gre-Nal: "My loan deal is over. It was six months long and now I am returning. Gremio had an agreement with Arsenal and I have to return."

Santos added: "I wanted to stay. Gremio were fair regarding everything. I felt well there and I wanted to win a title before leaving.

"Unfortunately there is no deal and I had to return to Arsenal."

And more to the point do you think that he is actually worth £10m (I dont btw) ?

Very mixed signals in the market re keepers at the mo - we have barca and valdes saying that he will be honouring his last 12 months but we also hear that as soon as valdes signs for monaco reina will then sign for barca and mignolet will sign for the victims :? If reina is valued at 8m (seems to be widely accepted figure) then how can mignolet be valued at 10m ? Would reina be worth a punt at 8m or do the wounds with him still run too deep ?
Personally I still cant believe we havent signed cesar
