Higuain is more of a poacher than Villa is.augie wrote:Eboue-Why? wrote:Can I ask a stupid question? (no change there then)
If this Higuain chap is so good, why aren't Madrid moving heaven and earth to keep him?! Or is it just a similar situation to RVP?
1. Madrid are trying to generate sizeable transfer funds for their incoming manager
2. Higuain wants to leave
3. They have benzema
4. They have a portugese ladyboy who now plays up front or off the main striker
People can debate whether higuain is suited to our game or indeed suited to the english game but one thing they shouldnt be in any doubt of is his quality cos he is top quality. If I'm honest I am not convinced that he will fit seemlessly into our team in it's current guise and he may well be another striker better suited to a 4-4-2 system but I could be wrong on that. Personally I would much rather we signed david villa - yes I know that age is against him but imo villa brings more of the nippy goalpoaching skills that I believe we need.
IF we signed higuain then I'm sure that many will laud it as a statement of intent - yes it would be a big signing for the club but on it's own it will do fcuk all. We have fallen so far now that we need at least another two top quality players to join before we can be classed as genuine challengers again and I would be amazed if we signed two top quality players much less 3 or 4 of them (one might even be nothing more than a pipe dream).
Villa is more clinical than Higuain though. Not that Higgy isnt.1989 wrote:Higuain is more of a poacher than Villa is.augie wrote:Eboue-Why? wrote:Can I ask a stupid question? (no change there then)

Apparently Park Chu Young failed to turn up for the last game of his pitiful season on loan to some spanish club. It will be difficult to get rid off him now. IMO if we dont get an offer, even if its a freeby, for him and Santos we should just terminate them on the final few days of transfer window. It will cost a bit. I reckon about 60% of their wages but its better than doing a Chamakh. Speaking of which I havent heard anything from him.
Not sure I've got a chainsaw big enough for Santos!g88ner wrote:Chippy's your man for thatspendsum4uckingmoney wrote:BTW I found this

They're not obliged to but I would imagine that the contracts contain a "death in service" payout clause as standard. And even if they don't if I was as fat as Santos (with all the inevitable health complications) I would damn sure insist on one.spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:Seriously though if a footballer dies does the club still have to pay out the contract? We need a few agent 47's.

To dispel doubts about his appointment and his general unpopularity he decided to give an interview where he not only mispronounced but clearly didn't know the names of Llambias, Cabaye, Ameobi and Gutierrez amongst others, claimed he brought Krul to the club (signed 3 years prior to his arrival) and had 3 manager of the year awards (in fact has 1). This after brassly insisting he was more intelligent than his critics and could open the door to any manage in the world![]()

Although to see Pardew undermined so embarrassingly (NUFC have said he will report to Kinnear) is fantastic.
As an aspiring corporate lawyer (currently getting a degree in law) I can try and answer this but with a dozen cans of Budweiser down my neck including eight or so double glenfiddich's and a couple of pints of Guinness my memory/knowledge is a bit hazy.spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:Seriously though if a footballer dies does the club still have to pay out the contract? We need a few agent 47's.
