SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Contracts of almost all kinds are void if either party to the contract is no longer able to fulfill their obligations - typically death of a party or insolvency of an entity is enough. There may be recourse of sorts but typically the player would be insured for morbidity possibly both personally and also by the club such that both the club and the estate or not left out of pocket.

I watched it mate. Why wasn't it shown live? I watched on a stream. Cahill was bollocks. Jordan and Iraq overcome though, and qualified. Congrats.

Mate, Im not sure - maybe because of the time difference in WA - it was live over here on FOXTEL and delayed 30 minutes i think on SBS. I was at the game - 80,000 in the rain. Played pretty conservatively clearly not wanting to concede because then all you would see is the Iraqies falling over - geez the middle eastern teams shit me with their puss antics. With the current squad we will be just making up the numbers in Brazil but once the remnants of our 2006 squad move on and some of the youngens step up 2018 should be good. Keep on eye out for Rogic who is at Celtic in the next couple of years - could be something big Im tipping.

How are you enjoying yourself so far?

As an aspiring corporate lawyer (currently getting a degree in law) I can try and answer this but with a dozen cans of Budweiser down my neck including eight or so double glenfiddich's and a couple of pints of Guinness my memory/knowledge is a bit hazy.

As far as I'm aware, clubs wouldn't be legally obliged to pay any sort of mortality payment if death occurs outside of the work place and/or there is no clause within the contract regarding a mortality payout or pension scheme.

But don't hold me to that as I'm slightly pissed!
I don't remember posting this.

Has it ever happened before that there is a round of league fixtures on the same day that the transfer window closes ? Will be damn hard for anybody hoping to do business that day - old twitcher will have to get a car window installed in the dugout at loftus road

according to the French hitman, the injury problems have got so bad he nearly quit his playing career recently – in order to go and work in his mum’s post office.

‘I told my mum that because of my injuries I wanted to quit,’ said Sanogo.

Do they? - Tuttosport are just relying on the Daily Mail, aren't they?

I know all these foreign articles make it seem like the news it everywhere, but they're all quoting the Daily Mail as the source... so that's the only article worth linking to, surely? :o then you have to ask whether the Daily Mail is a reliable source or whether they're just putting bells and whistles on an old story even though no more information is actually available? :?

I'm 90% sure we will get Higgy. I dont see AW wanting Felaini. He isnt an AW type signing.

Listen matey, it's not only the daily fail reporting it. The two biggest Madrid papers (AS and Marca) are running with it too.

Put aside all this needless cynicism. It's going to happen. Get excited.
I'm 100% sure it will happen and if it doesn't I promise never to post on here again.

Better hope it does otherwise not only would Higuain not come, but I won't be seen on here again and that surely is a far bigger disaster. :-P
