SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

augie wrote:Again I know the papers are full of bullshit rumours this time of the year but in the past week or so several of them are suggesting that tevez will sign for ac milan for approx £10m.......would any of ye take a chance on signing him for us at that price ? I know that he has a mercenary reputation and that when you buy the guy that cheap then you will end up overpaying on the wages but jeez I have to say that I would sign him for us at that price. He would bring that big game attitude, would work his bollox off for the team and would love to be in a team where he is top dog again 8)
Isn't the problem that he wants to get away from England and play in a latin country? - if so, I'm not sure Arsenal helps...

But as a player, yeah - I'd take him. Full of energy, fire and "top quality" ( :-P )

For your own sanity I hope you work on an oil rig in the north sea and aren't due home for a bit!

:? :?

Chelsea haven't signed Cavani though, so using that as a bizarre barometer for us signing Higuain, and getting all frustrated and head-bangy about it is just... well... insane :? (even by the standards of this forum)

Good for them. Were we after him and would we prefer him to Higuain? - if not, what's the problem?

OK calm down........ Why the attitude?
If I cannot come on here and post what I consider a perfectly normal post without someone jumping down my neck, I give up. This is why I call the transfer windows, silly seasons! 50% of our fans go fucking barmy JEEZ!!

Juve have just agreed a fee (believed to be £10m) with citeeh for the transfer of tevez - one would think that will mean juve will divert their attention now from higuain AND jovetic so we might have our choice of available strikers

??

what attitude?  - it's a genuine question... what's the problem with our pursuit of Higuain? the chap I originally replied to was getting his knickers in a twist, comparing our failure to land Huguain with Chelsea's success at securing Cavani... even though they haven't :o it's nuts!

I think you're being a little touchy about my reply though, mate. Sorry, I should have put some smilies to be clear, but having read it back, I'm a little surprised by your reaction.

Sorry, mate - but I wasn't going nuts at all. Sometimes I just assume people know I'm a decent chap, and forget about internet protocol, where you have to go overboard in showing your sincerity and proving you're not a troll. :(

Fair do's perhaps I am a bit touchy/grumpy having had a major row with the club today over my boys membership. Anyway in answer to your question at this moment in time I would just like the club to be a bit more pushy when it comes to our transfer dealings, and not losing out because we or should I say Wenker keeps dithering. I was trying to point this out by posting what I did, but perhaps should of made that more obvious. :D

Tevez going to Juventus is a clear sign if any was needed that they've given up on their pursuit of Higuain.

Higgy is a Gooner.
