SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Good news but Joel Campbell still has to be loaned out for another two seasons at least before being given the chance to prove that we've wasted time and money on him and shipping him out under the terms of 'The Carlos Vela Scholarship' that we awarded him.

Presumably on loan at places like Colchester or Watford

Died years ago, but outlived his wife, who turned into a pillar of salt, to provide for us all to take a pinch of it every time we hear we will buy Rooney!

No chance where Campbell is concerned. He's a full Costa Rican international and made 32 league appearances for Betis last season, who finished 7th in La Liga. Either a PL club or a shot at a first team place with us.

Would like to have him in the squad to be honest. Look forward to seeing how he gets on in pre season.

According to WhoScored, Joel Campbell has played on both wings for Real Betis this season. Made 21 starts, scored 2 goals and made 3 assists. They also say that he's weak at passing and finishing. Sounds like Gervinho!

But unlike Gervinho, he's young and could improve on his weaknesses.

I can't decide if the Arsenal interested in Gareth Barry "story" is a grotesque abuse of journalism or just plain hilarious!
