FFS...wake me up on 31st August.
Q. What do early Arsenal signings and an impotent man have in common.
A. They never come.

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
The only thing holding me back from being totally ecstatic about the prospect of another farcical transfer window closing is that it will mean another mediocre, groundhog day season is about to begin.

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
I thought we were having a shit TW, then I read about Kolo Toure signing for the Mousers and nearly pissed myself laughing.
He was waaaaay past his best when we raped Citeh for the transfer fee, he was fat, slow, and shit by then. If anything he has gotten shitter and fatter in his time at Citeh and now the Mousers pay £12m for him??!! Is there even a KFC big enough to accomodate Kolo in Liverpool??!!

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
Wasn't Kolo out of contract so went on a free? Hillarious stuff none the less.
Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
Not sure we "never" sign players early. Didn't we sign Podolski in about May last year? Giroud in June, i'm pretty sure that Vermaelen and Nasri were signed in May or June as well a few years back.Wengerballs wrote:FFS...wake me up on 31st August.

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
I agree about Kolo (but they got him on a free) and I also think Rodgers is out of his depth, but at least they have shown some intent to improve their squad and counter act as best they can a possible Suarez move, by signing a striker, I also think Miognolet was a steal at 9 mil and could be a real success.DB10GOONER wrote:I thought we were having a shit TW, then I read about Kolo Toure signing for the Mousers and nearly pissed myself laughing.![]()

"Arsenal's pre season transfers started as early as 30 April 2012, when Arsenal announced they were going to sign German international Lukas Podolski from Cologne for an undisclosed fee,[1] thought to be around £10.9m."

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
The club is a laughing stock. Everybody is laughing at how cheap and pathetic we are. I remember even Zlatan Ibrahimavic did the same a few years back saying he felt sorry for us.

Really?QuartzGooner wrote:I think there is a lot to this.rigsby wrote:Anyone think we don't sign early to avoid paying summer wages?

But we can't officially sign a player until July 1st anyway... and pre-season starts a fortnight later, and the league starts a month after that, so hardly seems worth jeopardising a transfer to save a few weeks wages - especially when a full pre-season is better for the player/team.
Not convinced!

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
I feel we are a club that goes out of it's way to do things the right way but all that we end up is more frustration and anger .

Why "even" Ibrahimovic?spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:The club is a laughing stock. Everybody is laughing at how cheap and pathetic we are. I remember even Zlatan Ibrahimavic did the same a few years back saying he felt sorry for us.

Erm, no - the guy changes clubs as often as his underpants; chasing the money as he goes. He's the ultimate premium priced gun for hire (and fair play, he's good at it too!) so it doesn't surprise me one bit that the guy wouldn't understand the way Arsenal operate... and quite frankly, he's hardly qualified to pass judgement anyway, so fuck him and his uneducated opinions; they're irrelevant.
Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
its the fact that hes said it at all which is the problem, even a complete fool with no knowledge of football can see that WE ARE a laughing stock, how did we get to this,oh yes, theres only one Arsole Wenkerg88ner wrote:Why "even" Ibrahimovic?spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:The club is a laughing stock.
