SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Oh please.. do me a favour.... wouldn't say no of course, but never happening.

Shame as well, since he'd have brought plenty of BITE to our attack.

I'd say no - he's a grub of the highest order and not worthy of an Arsenal shirt.

Agree with Northbank123, Wilshere is much better suited to playing deep midfield, passing from deep and making tackles, he is good in that position.
I think it is possible that one day he could play as the number 10 that his shirt number hints at, but not as an out-and-out striker as he is just too slow.
Cazorla is better than Wilshere as a number 10, so I would like to see central midfield built around Wilshere plus one other.

As for Podolski, I think his most effective work has been cutting in from the left and shooting, so carry on with him there, hoping his ankle injury clears up.

Meanwhile Park Chu Young is in combat training.

Combat training? I'd keep him and only use him against Stoke

Time to break out the fucking bubbly me thinks...
Says nothing we haven't heard already ,but still he hasn't been signed and now we are linked with Saurez ????
Since we agreed personal terms with him we hear stories about our bids for Rooney, Fellaini and now Saurez why is that I wonder ? ? ? ?
It couldn't possibly be that we are playing up our interest in others to get a lower price from Real Madrid for the player
could it ???????????
No that would be hoodwinking us all wouldn't it ???????
I do think something will break before they leave for the east next Thursday but I'm far from confident that this deal is done !

Apart from the bit about him travelling to London today to sign the contract and us finally agreeing on the fee (€27m)?

I thought Suarez wanted to leave England? Why is he being linked with us? I think the rumour is nonsense.

I'm taking the piss buddy so dont go all sensitive

Anyway I am not and never will be a "party line" type of guy - since I joined here (2007  ) I have continually stuck my neck out and express my thoughts on all issues, both positive and negative, regardless of what the perceived party line is at that time and I have frequently received abuse for doing so 8) My comment on barry repeated what I had said on here 2 days ago and wasnt cos of what anybody else thinks......it is just because the guy is shit

Genuinely thought Higuain deal was gonna fold... this looks promising :barscarf: :barscarf:

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... lo-Higuain
Gonzalo Higuain's father Jorge has revealed that they have finally been given permission by Real Madrid to officially open talks with Arsenal.

Arsenal have been locked in talks with Real for weeks about a deal for the Argentina international striker and sources claim that the two clubs have now agreed a deal.

Real Madrid wanted €25million (£21million) for the 25-year-old, with Arsenal's opening offer believed to be €20million but it appears a compromise has now been reached, and it will represent a club-record deal for the English club.

"We have been given permission by Real Madrid to negotiate with Arsenal," Higuain senior, who represents the player along with one of his other sons, told Fox Sports Argentina.

"I will luckily be able to see my son in the Premier League soon."

Higuain is now set to fly into England and could complete his long-awaited move over the weekend.
