Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
If he's as greedy a bastard as some of our other players he won't go. Even though we've been willing to let players go for free/negligible fees then players like Bendtner have refused because he knows he'll only get paid half his wages elsewhere, whereas if he's loaned out then we'll pay the other half. Others have refused to go on loan completely.p206ab wrote:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... vante.html

I really think Steve Bould should be tasked with grabbing these greedy bastards against the wall by their scrotum and sticking his big bald head in their face until they get the message.

Although the season starts in another 6-8 weeks or so, there's still plenty of transfer window time. And just because we're negotiating Higuain in a lengthy manner, doesn't mean we're not also out shopping for other players. We did make a serious move for Lars Bender last week, for example.
I have to admit, the club can be exceptionally good at keeping its cards close to its chest at times.
Dont agree with that and never have - the competitive games may start in another 6-8 weeks but your season starts when the squad returns to training. This is especially true IF a club has brought in a few new players (and sold a few first team players) as these next few weeks are vital for integrating those new players into your squad/team. Pre season footie friendlies are viewed and in a similar way now to their nfl counterparts in that rarely, if ever, do teams play their best 11 together so that makes the training and bonding that goes on now all the more crucial.

Now that Cavani has joined PSG Higuain will go to Chelsea
Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
we're a joke, but it will be funny if teams like PSG and Monaco steal Chelsea's transfer targets.

Don't agree with this at all - if some mug has been gullible enough to sign them up for ridiculous sums, why is it the players' responsibility to 'do the right thing', admit that they're shit players and fuck off to a lesser club for lower wages? And why should they be bullied out of the club when they're perfectly entitled to see out their contracts?northbank123 wrote:I really think Steve Bould should be tasked with grabbing these greedy bastards against the wall by their scrotum and sticking his big bald head in their face until they get the message.
There's only one person Bould should be pushing up against a wall, and I think we all know who that is.

Agree with this, this is their pension fund if you like, they will never earn this sort of money at any other club so for sure they will see out their contracts.VoiceOfReason wrote:Don't agree with this at all - if some mug has been gullible enough to sign them up for ridiculous sums, why is it the players' responsibility to 'do the right thing', admit that they're shit players and fuck off to a lesser club for lower wages? Thought djourou leaving to play football was something to admire in that if I was a pro player I would just want to play football whether it be 50,000 a week or 25,000 a week but we have to accept most modern football players (and their agents) aren't really bothered if they are an integral part of a team or not, it's just a job to them not a passion.

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
Oh I fully agree that it's the club's fault for giving them the contracts in the first place and that's where it stems from, and they're perfectly within their rights to see them out. But it just doesn't sit remotely well when we have players like Bendtner, who has been saying for about 2 years that he has no future at the club and can't wait to leave, refusing to actually leave. We have had players like Arshavin and Squillaci who have (allegedly) refused to go on loan because they've given up on their football career, so I don't think a bit of galvanisation would be a bad thing.LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:Agree with this, this is their pension fund if you like, they will never earn this sort of money at any other club so for sure they will see out their contracts.VoiceOfReason wrote:Don't agree with this at all - if some mug has been gullible enough to sign them up for ridiculous sums, why is it the players' responsibility to 'do the right thing', admit that they're shit players and fuck off to a lesser club for lower wages? I would have (some) admiration for Djourou if he actually wanted to get on with his career and start at a new club with a clean slate. Instead, like Bendtner, he'd rather go out on loan to a different club every season and put off rebuilding his career because of money.

If I were AW or Gazidis I would tell Bendtner and Cham if they don't leave this summer permanently then they will not loan him to another club. That they will not even play in the reserves. They will be given a job as a a janitor until the end of their contract.

And then they would be in a position to sue the club under Human Rights Law. I think.spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:If I were AW or Gazidis I would tell Bendtner and Cham if they don't leave this summer permanently then they will not loan him to another club. Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
Yes, amazing isn't it. What are they playing at? Haven't they heard that the earth beneath their feet is supposed to collapse when you don't qualify for the CL, and that life itself is barely worth living without it. Haven't they also heard Wenger state that foreign players ask "do you play in the Champions League?". Still I suppose they'll have to sell Bale unlike us who have managed to keep hold of their best players every season without fail courtesy of the orgasmic achievement of 16 consecutive years of playing in the only cup that mattersmarkyp wrote:how comes that shower up the road can grab that Brazilian, even with no trophies and no champs league and yet WE Charlie big potatoes are dithering with this bloody higgy deal, which ones the big club??

Yes that's right. I mean we had a clear run at signing Vieira from AC Milan's reserves and look at what a pile of shit he turned out to beafcforever wrote:He cant be that good if no big clubs never wanted him.SteveO 35 wrote:Yes, amazing isn't it.
