Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
Just read a great comment over on ANR that I am going to try and make my mindset for the remainder of the window -
"If Arsene Wenger is hell-bent on ruining my autumn, my winter and my spring, then at the very least I owe it to myself not to let him ruin my summer"
Amen brother, amen.

Do we get 50% of the fee if barca sell Cesc or 50% of any profit they make from the sale ? Both are common practices in football transfers and as you can tell, there is a vast difference in the potential windfall
Here it is but not sure how true it is .

So basically if manure did buy him for the €30m fee being banded about, we will receive €2.5m as our cut of the deal ? Hope that helps focus the guys who don't want Cesc back and cite the imaginary 30m "windfall"

I must admit I thought 50% of any sale was too good to be trueaugie wrote:swimmer1 wrote:I saw something the other day about his contract I will find it then link it overaugie wrote:Quick question ...... Just to stay on the theme what happens if Barca agrees to sell we take up the optition to buy but Cesc says no to coming back ?swimmer1 wrote:I must admit I thought 50% of any sale was too good to be trueaugie wrote:swimmer1 wrote:I saw something the other day about his contract I will find it then link it overaugie wrote:Quick question ...... Sky Sports:
It looks like Manchester United, and the rest of the Premier League top four's pursuit of Cesc Fabregas, is destined to end in failure. Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova has spoken to Fabregas and confirmed the midfielder wants to stay at Camp Nou.

I know he has received offers but I spoke with him and he told me expressively he wants to stay.

It's all just posturing from ManUre. Trying to placate their glory hunting wanker fans after the Thiago failure.

Absolutely. Read somewhere that the story was probably leaked by United given that it was reported pretty much simultaneously by the UK media outlets.1989 wrote:It's all just posturing from ManUre. Trying to placate their glory hunting wanker fans after the Thiago failure.
If I was a United fan I'd be worried if Moyes intends to continue conducting transfer business like this - as if having a relatively unknown manager on the European/global scene wasn't handicap enough for them, this is a sure-fire way to ensure they miss out on top targets.
Fabregas isn't available, doesn't want to leave and in any event they ain't gonna sell at that price.

Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
Just what is so difficult to believe in the story that Man United would want to sign a quality player like Cesc if Barca were willing to sell?
It's not as if they haven't got any money sloshing around or are afraid to pay big bucks to sign quality players - something that can't be said about those in charge at our club!

Seeing as no one else would take the bait...TheCook wrote:Barca selling both Thiago and Fabregas this summer?
I can't see it happening.
"Tito Vilanonva is quoted as saying 'Imagine the worst situation — we lose Fabregas and Thiago — you cannot convince people you are ambitious after that' "
I am disappointed in you all.

It's not difficult to believe... just that they must have known they had no hope of a £25m offer being seriously considered. Although I don't work in the game I'm sure there are more effective channels than making a public derisory bid. Smacks of Moyes and the club trying to appease their 'fans', many of whom are getting restless at the lack of quality and worried about the likes of Citeh and Chelsea improving significantly next year.I Hate Hleb wrote:Just what is so difficult to believe in the story that Man United would want to sign a quality player like Cesc if Barca were willing to sell?![]()

surely by making a bid like this thinking that it will fail will only piss the fans off more, look at us, bidding but getting no where and the fans feeling fucked off about it.

Three english clubs including arsenal interested in cesc, so much for first refusal. This is going to become a bidding war.
