SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We're not gonna sign anyone of note, may as well talk about what else is going on to pass the time. Higuain to Napoli, Suarez to Madrid and even the most ardent of the window lickers will finally see the light with reagrd to the GORMLESS TURNIP.

Does Pss a medical mean he has to actually stand up after sitting on a bench for 24 months and getting paid £45k a week!? :rubchin:

I agree.Just a pity Wenger didnt think so 2 years ago when Mata had a buyout clause of £17m :banghead:

Thing is Chelsea need a striker and have loads of midfielders and Utd need a creative midfielder. Both teams win while we are left at the starting gate

Chelski were able to offer Mata higher wages and Valencia more money

But the posts about Rooney and chavski does involve us as the boss has said that him, higuain and suarez are of the high quality we need and we have been linked with all 3.

So when Rooney goes to chavski and higuain and suarez to other ambitious teams we can concentrate on our ACTUAL transfer targets of Barry, Remy and krull :(

My gut instinct is that we over haggled over the price/wages of Mata, and ended up getting gazumped.

I fear a similar thing may happen with Higuain now that Napoli have £55m and a Cavani sized hole in their attack. I also don't think the romance of Napoli signing a big name Argentine can be ignored either.

I accept there's a huge element of interpretation and confirmation bias involved though, so perhaps the Mata deal was never on the cards. Who know's.

Rooney to Chelsea, Suarez to Madrid, Higuain to Napoli and with 70 or 100 million to spend, remy or anyone who cost less than 15 million might be heading to arsenal. Thank god we won't end up like Leeds. Arsene knows. :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
