As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If that is the case and we can go and get Torres for £15m, i'd say thank you very much. He'd suit our game no end.
On the other hand as this summer is playing out like the rest, less than a month to go and we have bought............................one bloke out of the french 2nd division!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But the posts about Rooney and chavski does involve us as the boss has said that him, higuain and suarez are of the high quality we need and we have been linked with all 3.
So when Rooney goes to chavski and higuain and suarez to other ambitious teams we can concentrate on our ACTUAL transfer targets of Barry, Remy and krull
Fair point but don't forget Williams
Was gonna put him on but Swansea have made him Captain and no Teams sell their Captains.....oh
Dunno what's gone wrong with you lefty but you seem to have become as cynical and sarcastic as the rest of us

weird that it's somehow become internet gospel Wenger is to blame for that...
My gut instinct is that we over haggled over the price/wages of Mata, and ended up getting gazumped.
I fear a similar thing may happen with Higuain now that Napoli have £55m and a Cavani sized hole in their attack. I also don't think the romance of Napoli signing a big name Argentine can be ignored either.
I accept there's a huge element of interpretation and confirmation bias involved though, so perhaps the Mata deal was never on the cards. Who know's.
Your gut instinct is right g88ner....The deal was all but signed, but wenker being the tightass that he is...was haglging over £5k (per week in wages0 so chavs stepped in and said here's £10k a week more than what Arsenal are offering and there you have it...wnger & gazidis do for our transfer window what pox does for a whore...well somfing like that

Finally someone that agrees - Torres with confidence would be perfect for us! Why is he not confident? Because at Chelsea he walked into a room with Drogba, Terry and Lampard and 50m on his back whereas at Arsenal, bereft of stars, waiting for a saviour - just sayin....
Plus we would still have 55m to buy others

What if, stay with me, we get relegated next season then get promoted straight away!
Trophy!!!!!!!
Kidding, I'm lobbying for Torres now plus Joe Hart, Gareth Barry and Micah Richards
Only kidding about one of those as well
A few weeks ago, I doubt there were many of us who didn't have genuine high hopes for this transfer window, such was the unprecedented gesturing of the club regarding transfers.
If things go the way they now seem to be going, then this would turn out to be the most disappointing window ever. It would be difficult to see how Wenger and co could bullshit themselves out of this one, surely every last bit of hope that was held by anyone who was undecided on Wenger would be erased.
He will however, have signed his new multi-million pound contract by then and we will be left with a feeling of total dejection.
Agreed - even if available at £20m that sort of money plus huge wages would spell a phenomenal gamble on somebody who doesn't seem to know his arse from his elbow on a football pitch these days.
Higuain, on the other hand, would have done very nicely.

I agree with that, but it's a very pessimistic (but understandable) outlook on a transfer window that has yet to kick into gear.
Most transfers around Europe are surely still yet to happen, so for now there's far too many ifs and buts to consider.
