bitter Arry on the wind up???

bitter Arry on the wind up???

In Today's Sun... :? what a knob :?

'Look Away Now' by Harry Redknapp

This sight could really hurt [photo of Cesc & RVP in United shirts  ]

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... l-fas.html

IT WAS just a couple of years ago Cesc Fabregas told Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger that he wanted to go ‘home’ to Barcelona.

Now Manchester United want to bring him back to England. How would that make you feel as an Arsenal supporter?

What a sight it would make for Gunners fans to see Fabregas and Robin van Persie lining up for Manchester United against Arsenal next season.

That’s why there are so many big obstacles standing in the way of David Moyes’ attempts to sign the Spanish midfielder and bring him back to the Premier League.

Not that I wouldn’t love to see him over here again, mind. Fabregas is a top player, a world-class player.
He can move the ball like a dream and score goals.

And, if there is one area where Manchester United are short, it is in midfield.

Fabregas, now 26, is an all-rounder.

Yes, United have Michael Carrick but after that they are pretty well short of top-class players in that area. Paul Scholes has retired and Tom Cleverley, England international though he is, has still to prove himself at a consistent level.
Barcelona insist Fabregas is not for sale but everyone has their price of course.

The overriding factor is that the player himself just a couple of seasons ago wanted to go home to Spain, to the club where he started as a boy.

It hasn’t gone well for him. He’s great but not quite as good as Xavi or Iniesta so he hasn’t been playing that much.
That’s why he is being talked about in £25million terms.

However, had he stayed at Arsenal and cemented his place there as captain and midfield star, he could be a £40m player.

It might not always be good to follow your heart.

But if he were to come back to England just two years after making his emotional journey back to Spain, then that would tell you everything you need to know about football these days.

I’m sure it’s not just Manchester United who would like him back, though, as Arsenal would jump at the chance too.

It’s weird how so many players seem to leave that club — Fabregas, van Persie, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri. I don’t know why but there must be some reason that makes them want to leave Arsenal.

But Arsenal would want him back at the Emirates and Fabregas would undoubtedly be a great asset to any team in the Premier League.

That said, I just can’t see him signing somehow.

I don’t think even David Moyes at Manchester United will be able to persuade him to leave the Nou Camp or to persuade Barcelona to sell.

A lot of people have wondered if signing Fabregas would have any effect on keeping Wayne Rooney at Old Trafford but I don’t see any link there.

England striker Rooney’s problems with the club come from a different direction.

Maybe things have gone too far there now, maybe it is the case that he will be leaving.

There may be that there is no way back for Rooney and the club now.

This could well explain why United are making such a big play for Fabregas.

They are desperately short in that area of the pitch — and losing Rooney would leave a big hole for United to fill.
Fabregas is a big name — and he could fill it.

It's not weird that players like RVP, Cesc, Nasri, etc. want to leave us - it's ambition and money. We couldn't match either of these ambitions, so got kicked to he curb. Simple.

Troublemaking.
It's also not weird how Harry takes clubs so far then hits a wall...then leaves them...having spent a fortune.....to win...how many league titles is it he has won in his career?

The fake picture looks more like his son Jamie than Cesc... After spouting his usual tripe 'Arry said the interview was over, wound up his window and drove off.

Far be it for me to defend 'arry but exactly what is it in what he wrote that is showing 'bitterness' or 'winding us up' g88ner'? :? :?

Although I would expect this type of thread from some other members of the forum, I've always took you to be a little bit more discerning and thoughtful when commenting on stuff, so am surprised by this. :rubchin:

Hlebby, I think you need to read it again, mate

It's a question Hlebby. Is he on the wind up?

I thought there was enough there to broach the question or at the very least I thought it was something people on this forum may want to be made aware of.

Personally, I'm not sure - it seems a little tacky to photoshop Cesc into a United shirt and suggest Arsenal fans look away now... and I'm also not sure about his comment, "I don't know why but there must be some reason they want to leave Arsenal'... does it really baffle him or it a tad mischievous? - As I said, I'm not sure so I raised the question. I'm also not as sure he'd be as comfortable doing a similar article on Sp*rs, but perhaps he would.

Obviously, you don't think there's anything odd about it, and that's good - it'd be a rubbish forum if we always agree. On the other hand, Quartz thinks it's troublemaking (I assume he means 'arry and not me   ) so perhaps it's not cut and dried.

I also didn't say he was being bitter in that article (although I can appreciate the confusion 8) ) - I called him bitter 'arry, and I genuinely believe he holds a bit of a grudge against Arsenal owing to his failure to topple us. This is an opinion I've come to over several seasons, not just one article.

I very rarely start threads but thought this was the sort of stuff people would like to comment on and discuss :? . I admit it's slightly out of character, and perhaps my judgement was wrong and I shouldn't have posted it, but it's done now. Sorry to disappoint you though, mate. :( :(

Anyway, thanks for the compliment - "discernible and thoughtful" 8) - would you mind if I put that on my CV and used you as a reference?

But g88ner it's not as if Redknapp himself mocked up the picture!! Can you imagine 'arry busy cutting and pasting pictures using Photo-shop when he allegedly can't even use a mobile properly and doesn't know what twitter is? :rubchin:

And given our track records, who is likely to be more right about something, me or Quartz?

Hlebby, look how amateurish the photoshopping is. It looks to me like Harry has simply taken a pair of scissors and prit-stick to a copy of Shoot magazine, and then handed it over to The Sun editors, and told them to "make it happen"

As for track records - I hold Quartz' opinion very highly... just wouldn't want him editing a thread. He's shit at it. Seriously. :|
