SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

They know fuck all but prey off those that think they do
There was a period at the start of July where i read every fucking day for about 2 weeks that Higuain would be "unveiled as an Arsenal player within 24hrs."

For what it's worth I don't think we stand a chance with Suarez; Victims would be loath to sell to us.

Still think we'll get Higuain eventually.

Rodgers on Suarez:

"There's been a lot of speculation over the course of the close season but the reality is that he's a player who is very much valued at Liverpool and unless there's any sort of offer that comes in that's anywhere near his value, there's nothing to consider.

"We haven't had that."

Asked what that value was, Rodgers replied: "I didn't say we would sell him! I said that every player has a value and a worth. Doesn't mean you've got to sell them."

If you wouldn't sell him then WHY would you consider an offer that's "anywhere near his value"? :rubchin: :rubchin:

Fucking idiot.

He's not everyone's cup of tea but I think he's genuine. Wasn't he the one who claimed Santi and Monreal were joining before anyone else got wind of it? Also pretty much always on the money when it comes to team line ups, injuries, etc.
Throw enough shit and some of it's gonna stick. He was one of the Higuain done deal/medical next week crowd, he also claimed that his 'sources' said that deal was done and Rooney was next, he bleated on about us being in talks for Jovetic for ages and I bet if you bothered to look you'd find him claiming some inside knowledge that we were in advanced talks/close to signing Fellaini and Cesar. Add to this pretty far-fetched claims that we bid for Cavani and were interested in/enquired about Falcao.

Besides, this is such a simple trick. It was widely reported last week that we were going to up our bid to £40m - that story has been buried for a few days so he's simply brought it up again and slightly adjusted the figure. Hundreds of retweets later all he needs is for one rag or goal.com or caughtoffside on Twatter to print the same story they were last week that we're back in for Suarez and he appears credible.

Besides, who would keep leaking this stuff to him? Unless his Twatter account has some mystery financial backers it's not like he can pay people for information so who would want to continually feed this loudmouth information?

Higgy isn't coming anywhere near Arsenal and neither is Suarez. We will come "very close" of course just like we did for Drogba, Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo, Mata and Yaya Toure, but on 31 August we'll be panicking like fuck and running to the "5 shit signings or less" counter with a basket full of Loic Remy's and Serge Aurier's

"Breaking News" on ssn is that manure have made a 2nd bid for cesc but barca have told them that no decision will be made on it until the new manager is appointed - thats a far cry from the "he is not for sale" line they came out with last week

Believe me, if we'd missed out on him everyone here would be moaning when they see him tear it up for Chelsea or Spurs.
