SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

They don't want to sell him. Barcelona don't have to play hardball with their own players in the media because the only reason anyone wants to leave is because they're not good enough to get sufficient game time. Xavi 34 this year, Thiago gone - add to that only Messi, Alves and Valdes have made more starts than Fabregas since he joined. The only reason they'd sell him is if he begged to leave - which won't happen. And even if it did they wouldn't then sell him as undervalue as we did and in fact make a substantial loss due to the alleged sell-on clause we have.

United leaking another bid and publicising their chief exec leaving their tour is just trying to placate their moronic fans, many of whom are getting restless and worried by the changes at Citeh and Chelsea and have reservations over Moyes.

Believe me, if we'd missed out on him everyone here would be moaning when they see him tear it up for Chelsea or Spurs.
Given how long it takes between our phantom medicals and players actually signing him we might just get him in time for the January window

So looks like we'll replace Forehead with Bernard - Brilliant.

The other transfer I do expect us to complete is Ashley Williams

Even "There's Only One" can't let us go into the new season with Sagna and Jenkinson as the covering centre halves for TV5, having farmed out Djourou again. With Monreal out at left back I can see more "special circumstances" developing soon too as Gibbs never makes it through pre-season without getting crocked and we'll be playing Miquel there if that happens or one of the right backs having flogged the donut muncher and with TV5 out.

Bernard and Wilshere in the same team, two young, world class attacking talents. Fucking exciting.

Combine that Cazorla and we'll have a magical attack.

Just need that top striker now.

I think I left something in the toilet this morning that would be a better footballer than Headdie McBaldrick to be fair.

Would be happy with Bernie, although I don't think he's quite ready for the rigours of English football just yet, but I think we need a 'keeper, CH and striker first.

Good he may be, but there are much more important areas that need addressing IMO and certainly 21m could be better spent elsewhere.

I have a feeling that the fruitless search for a CDM and GK for years on end is now going to replaced with There's Only One signing another dozen midfielders before he realises we don't have a striker worthy of the name

Dont worry about it......wenger will probably try and convert him into a centre half anyway

Personally I dont give a flying fcuk how good this guy is or isnt - the c.unt in charge wont pay top dollar for a centre forward when one is badly needed and yet he will pay huge money for yet another kid (a winger at that) unproven at the top level (5 international caps) and no experience playing in europe :banghead:

We let Arshavin go and we're selling Forehead. We needed a new winger IMO.

Agreed about more important areas though (DM and striker).

Oscar had no European experience before signing for Chelsea.

He also had a handful appearances for Brazil before signing for them.

Would you not have had him?

I think Chelsea could afford to take a punt on Oscar though as they weren't so lacking in other areas like we are.
