THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Agreed- if he joins RVP under Moyes and they win anything then that pretty much says Wenger ain't up to it.

Some good points from Paul Parker.
"I'm not convinced that Arsene Wenger even wants to sign any of these big-name players. The top players have their own personalities and if you are at the summit of the game it is natural that you are going to have an element of arrogance about you.

Wenger does not want to deal with this type of player: he is a control freak who wants players that will do as they are told and won't talk back to him. The Higuains, Rooneys and Suarezs of this world will give their opinion and want to have their say in certain situations."
Spot on. Wenger loves to buy docile, fresh faced unknown imports, glad for their chance in the glitzy world of the Premier League who'll do exactly what he says. It makes me wanna slit my wrists, I'm so sick of this clown.

Good to see someone pulling it up in the media though.
His little toy soldiers, who won't shout at each other on the pitch and demand more of each other. That's why Arshavin never really fitted in at Arsenal. The policy doesn't even work because as soon as the players think they've achieved something (i.e. a couple of seasons of finishing fourth, which is Wenger's trophy, they want to leave) and those who are shown to be rubbish are very hard to shift because no-one else will match the ridiculous wages they are on at Arsenal.

I wonder if the "There's Only One Arsene Wenger" window lickers will still be singing their little song when Higuain is banging them in for Napoli at the Emirates Cup

I reckon that if it was a competitive game he would get booed by our fans.

Which would show sad they really are. He wanted to join us first and foremost but chief chumps Gazidis, Law and Arsehole Wenker couldn't manage to sign the one world class player that actually was interested in playing for us

With reference to Paul Parker's quote it sounds chillingly like a conversation I had with him on this a couple of months back, I shall sue him for a pint next time I see him which I think will be tomorrow night

Will he be wearing his Spider-Man costume at this meeting of 'super heroes'? :rubchin:  I take it that, given your location, you will be turning up per usual as Hong Kong Phooey!!

I Normally wear a pith helmet plus 4's socks and a cartridge belt ,Paul will likely turn up in a ballarina tutu with hobnail boots and a Mohican hair do !

Hello lads,

A long time reader (about 2006 I think) Just thought I had to break my silence and say that this c.unt has to go. Too many summers, too many lies, too many shit signings, and again too many lies. Even if he had £200 mil I still wouldn't trust him.

Cheers OBG, felt like it since 2008 (and got into a shit load of arguments with AKBs) but this and the last several summers has made me officially made me go all Vader!

The summer window is still open for a whilst, why don't people wait and see who we sign before getting too excited?
I still believe we will sign a couple of top class players.

To be honest, I think it is because we have been here too many times before afc. If the Suarez deal falls through then it will be like the final of Super Market Sweep all over again. I.e Remy and Williams :barscarf: :rubchin:

The thing is that Suarez alone won't make much difference. Sure, he'll score goals for us and win us points but equally we'll throw stupid points away due to calamitous defending. Which is why the fact that our entire efforts in the transfer window are now focused on him is pissing me off.

In fact, whichever players we sign won't make a difference anymore. The problem is the manager. I'm convinced that Wenger could inherit the entire Bayern Munich starting 11 and still fail to win the league thanks to a raft of bizarre subs, weird formations, lack of motivation, resting players etc. We've tried so many different combinations of players since 2006 and had no success, at what point do people recognise the common denominator present throughout that period and realise that the problem is Wenger?
