SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger reminds me of the minister of magic in the harry potter books - he refuses ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to see and admit the TRUTH.

What is frustrating - beside the fact that wenger because of his obstinancy and dogmatic stance has lead Arsenal far along the road to continuous and unparalleled failure under his (Mis) guidance - is that he is so in illusion that he somehow see's himself as the last bastion of fairness (Fair Play/Fair Pay)in the prem - He refuses to adopt and adpat to the way football is now run - purely on money, in that success is more likely to be achieved by spending large amounts of money - Speculate (money) to Accumulate (success/Trophies/Titles). And yet he is happy to be paid £7.5 million a year - whilst failing to do what he is there to do - Bring Success to the club in the form of trophies.

He once was a most excellent manager in an arena where it wasn't neessairly the club who spent the most - achieved the most, but THAT HAS CHANGED and he is incapable of changing with the times - Sadly that happens to everyone eventually - Everyone has their seel-by date/cut off point - even Fergie - Atleast he had the intelligence and self-knowledge to step aside at the very top of his game.

Sadly and regrettably Wenger when he does go (eventually! ) will now be remembered for his faliings rather than his initial excellence and originality - bringing a new approach to many areas of football; Training/Dietary regimes et cetera - BUT it is all because he refuses to admit his shortcomings.

His failure to win any kind of silverware in the past NINE seasons.

His failure to take the necessary steps to change this: buying players who lack the quality and skills necessary to play for a team of Arsenal stature, paying said sub-standard players wages that are far in excess of their talents and worth so that they become immovable, whilst failing to see how his policies and failure to invest properly have provoked our best players to seek success and monetary improvement elsewhere, and so in allowing those players to depart wenger has further embedded us in mediocrity - he has become so entrenched and isolated that he seems to believe he is supremely Right and everyone Wrong.

I cannot even begin to imagine the thick skin one must have to be a prem manager when everyone (especially pundits, fans, media) think they know better, or the mental strength to match the constant full on demands of such a job, BUT when the whole world is telling you - THIS HAS TO CHANGE - THIS IS NOT WORKING - Then either that person takes heed , or continues along the road to complete and utter failure - there can only be one reason for that : Mental Instability.

The board are also complicit in this - They are colluding 101% - As long as the money (Profit!) keeps rolling in, they are quite happy to allow Wenger to conduct business (manage) on behalf of the club, but they have done so to the point where Wenger oversee's Everything, they're not afraid of wenger they're afraid of losing the Goose who is laying those lovely big golden egss (Profit!).

I hate the board and just want Wenger GONE. I want my Arsenal Back.

Can I just send out this one last appeal to all of those suffering this same disappointment now.

When we're six points behind Spurs in March, but then have the mother of all unbeaten runs against Everton, West Ham, Hull, Newcastle, West Brom........finally culminating in a family size box of Kleenex moment at Norwich to clinch that "be all and end all" vital 4th Chumpions League spot.......and you start to think 2014 will be the Summer.....when it all changes......when he will 'spend big'......when he 'knows what's needed'........when we're linked with whoever just scored 25 goals in one of the top leagues.........when the reported warchest is £120m......when there's a week left to decide whether to invest £1200 in that season ticket......

FOR FUCK SAKE LOOK BACK TO THIS THREAD......AND EVERY OTHER FUCKING TRANSFER WINDOW THREAD SINCE WE MOVED STADIUM........AND REMIND YOUR-FUCKING-SELF THAT ITS THE SAME CLUELESS WANKER AT THE HELM........AND NEVER, EVER, EVER ALLOW YOURSELF TO THINK FOR ONE SECOND THAT THE BRAINLESS HALFWIT WILL EVER, EVER WAKE UP AND SEE WHAT'S NEEDED TO BUILD A TITLE CHALLENGING TEAM IN THE MODERN ERA

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'd take a punt and say a watery 'Club Level Salad Package' will be on offer for £8 - or £12 if you're inclined to choke down a 330ml bottle of pissy warm lager with it.

Get a grip, cos it ain't bleedin' rocket science.
It's just a little bit of history repeating itself.
Things, they not a changing.

No wonder the GIC sniggers at press interviews. I'd like to wipe that fucking smug grin off his face though.
I'm just feeling bad for all the supporters who still have a glimmer of hope of anything changing whilst those two twats are calling the shots.

Am starting to feel bad for 1989...

Just read this from Bernard's dad. He apparently said this to O Jogo (whoever they are...)
Nothing is decided yet but we know there is interest from Arsenal. There has been nothing official from them. Hulk has convinced Bernard that Porto would be better for him at this stage of his career.
It's still all speculation. It does, however, look like another done deal that won't be done after all

And in 3 years time AW will brag how he nearly signed him, right after he moves to Real Madrid for 40/50m.

Surely Wenker has assembled the best ever team of players he nearly signed. No team can match our imaginary Ibrahimavic & Ronaldo front line, ably supplied by the almost-signed Mata, Yaya Toure & Xabi Alonso from midfield.

Btw, have we signed anyone yet?

Sad times for me, have not renewed my membership. I know the club won't give a monkey's but having decied to not attend games whilst the asset strippers are in charge a couple of season's back it didn't feel right to keep paying a pointless annual stipend for me & the mrs in the hope things get better.
