SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not a chance is he going to sell the bloke who made 47 appearances up top last year and essentially admit another mistake. Not a clue where these reports could be coming from, seems absolutely absurd to me.

This whole thread is absolutely absurd along with a fair few others on the forum but that's what happens when football supporters get internet access  :?

All coming to light now the powers to be must be a bit upset at being only the 4th richest club in the world and need to cut half the squad to be ranked 3rd Barcelona watch out .

From Sky Sports transfer talk.

Also being reported in L'Equipe today is a claim that Valencia made an approach to Arsenal for Olivier Giroud. With Roberto Soldado set to be sold to Tottenham, Los Che were interested in a loan deal but the Gunners have quickly informed them that their France striker is not available.

So we have said no, or is that a no you can't loan him but you can put in a reasonable bid for him :rubchin:

If Giroud is for sale, I can't see what difference a transfer fee of a tenner will make to our funds.

I think Giroud is useful. Chamahk, Gervinho, Bendnter etc He can stay.
Everyone is so Hollywood these days - striker, striker, striker - we need a world class DM before anything and frankly our back 4 are average at best.

We need a world class forward if we are to compete for the league, we also need a dm (not rocket science really cos we have needed one for years), class CB and I think a very good winger (you know one that can beat a man and cross a ball, asking too much :? ) and goalkeeper.

rvp showed last season what a world class forward will bring to a quite average team that was well drilled and organised, he was the difference without a doubt.

Man city had 4 class forwards (2 of them world class) when they won the league season before last.

If we add the dm, defender to the team we still won't win the league, we lack a goal scoring threat against the better teams in the league, its fine hammering in 7 against reading and newcastle that bloated our goalscoring record that was misleading imo.

But against TOP teams when there are few chances giroud is not gonna get you that goal, nor is the dm or defender.
