As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Anyone who doesn't raise their voice and do whatever is necessary to protest at this slow, slow but inevitable death of our club as a major force in world football is as culpable as wenker himself. The thing is it is (especially these days where greed and the me, me, me first et cetera) what sheeple do - they hide away afraid to stand their ground, put their head above the parapet and protest, but when the shyte hits the fan and everything crumbles around them all they do is whine & moan and look for someone else to blame. Those who want change must be the one's to bring about that change. Not leave it for someone else to do.
It is down to each and every individual fan to "Protest" in the best way they can - no merchnadisefor those attending every week - Boo/banner wave whatever before and after every game - for those who cannot attend regularly - Write to club/media/phone ins et etc etc etc...Until it becomes so OBVIOUS that the present dictatorship cannot continue...that the balance will begin to tilt and sway in our favour.
Either that or turn your back and walk away for Good.
Whilst there are still bums on seats, Wenger will see it as doing his job. Winning trophies isn' important, it is more about cash.
Hit the board where it hurts and give them no choice. Or nothing will happen. I'm not a gooner but numerous friends are so I watch them more than most PL teams and I feel so sorry for you. Wengers arrogance is obvious to everyone but himself. He has one gameplan and anyone with YouTube can find out about the Eden hazards and such, Wenger used to have thia knowledge of players himself which is why he bought great players in for cheap back in the day. He cant do that now but his aarrogance tells him he can.
Stop going yo the games. Make it clear that it was your club before Wenger and will be after Wenger and you are all going to do something about it.
Or moan on a forum and don't do anything and assay the same next pre season

Again, I commend the principle but we can't pretend that there aren't other people ready
I also suspect that an overwhelming majority of those claiming to have 'sacrificed' their seat in protest or for the greater good have in fact done so because of financial circumstances or because they just don't enjoy it as much any more.

I think you're spot on NB123. maybe I would be expected to say that but I am fairly certain, even if I was someone who thought Wenger was a bad thing, that I wouldn't give my ticket up knowing it was essentially a toothless gesture, while I can still afford it, that would have little or no effect other than having a different bum on the seat.
I understand that maybe a few fairweather fans may just take your seats and it go unnoticed but what about some kind of protest? A march before the game to show your displeased at the boards backing of Wenger. I've always been a loyal man with football and thought that fans that get on at a player when he is shit are doing more harm than good, and the same with managers but Wenger looks like Tottenham have paid him handsomely to fuck you lot up and I wouldn't blame you for doing it. Arsenal are a big name and I would imagine anyone would like to take that job if it became available.
Do something. I think every fan of every club (apart from your rivals) are behind you if you do.

There was a pretty good turnout for the BSM march earlier this year. The problem is that any major supporter groups are reticent to denounce or criticise Wenger because they'll then lose credibility with the majority of fans that are eternally loyal to Wenger and moreover will not be recognised by the club and will therefore have no input on any issues.
Who do you support? And you don't need to convince 95% of people on here that Wenger isn't doing much good mate, you're preaching to the converted!
I support Chesterfield. We have been quite busy in the transfer market and looking lik the strongest side in League 2 now!!
I know you all don't like him. It was seeing how much of a farce the Arsenal pre-season transfer saga had become yet again that prompted me to come on here. I joined ages ago but just had a nosey. I just see how much of a piss take he is and I feel for you all. It's as though every October and March when you aren't doing great, the board come out and say "We have [insert amount][ to spend in the summer/winter transfer window to improve the squad" and then they just seem to think you forgot about it. So I thought I would just give my two pence worth and hope you get your club back. I reckon you would even prefer a bit of boring George Graham at the minute!!
I gave up my season tickets this summer and if you asked me if it was a financially based decision then I would say maybe. Fact is that I, along with many many others, do not have the disposable income that I once had so yes I am a bit picky where I choose to spend that money. I refuse point blank to put money in the pockets of people who do not represent the things I believe in. I refuse to put money in the pocket of a man earning 7.5m per year who also does not represent what I believe in. Defeats I can accept. Not winning trophies I can accept. What I cannot accept is when players, a manager and the club itself does not do everything in it's power to win trophies and as a result I am keeping my money.

Exactly, which is why it is paramount that all those who want Wenger gone/Changes in how the club is being run MUST voice their opinion at least in writing quoting their membership number etc...and saying exactly why they oppose what's happening - Doing so withuot being abusive or whatever - Simply state the facts as they see them - that wenker is no longer capable of managing a club of Arsenal's stature...IF enough of the 60,200 fans/ticket holders do that, then there IS more chance of something being done or at least the concerns/question/complaints being answered publicly.
The club is never going to sack Wenger, even if we finish out of CL. The new contract is there if he wants it, and always will be. Economic boycotting etc isn't going to change that - in fact a huge amount of Arsenal's commercial revenue comes from domestic and foreign fans who are forever loyal to Wenger and would be disgusted if he was moved on.
When Wenger leaves it will be of his own accord and the thing most likely to persuade him to do so next summer will be fan discontent. He'll never admit that his policies have been a failure and he'll never really think that he's not the best man to take us forward, but he does get really hacked off when he gets publicly questioned. His hissy fit after Villa away this year, his pissy response to any question carrying an air of criticism and his smug self-satisfaction whenever we put together a few results are testament to that. Far more booing, more negative chants, more banners and possibly a march if one can be properly organised - coupled with the media picking up on this and asking him tough questions at every press conference if we're not performing - might just piss him off enough to persuade him to jack it in.
