THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Making money for the club is the most important thing? Great creeping Jesus, you are not an investment banker, you are a football manager.

How about winning being the most important thing? Or trying to win, or even pretending to try to win?

Hoping that this place is a lot more open to the views I have! Looking forward to finally contributing :D
If you don't like the board, have lost faith in Wenker & wish for change at the Arsenal you'll fit right in. :)

There are still a fair few Wenker supporters on here but it's all good banter :barscarf:
Thanks mate! I certainly want change! Becoming increasingly demoralised about almost anything to do with the club now, and feel that Wenger is... 90% to blame for that.

That quote from 2009 sums it up really. He's happy enough to make money for the club, but not actually win anything? Does he not realise that if we actually won things more often we'd make more money?!

Got to admire our faithful followers, they berate Drogba, while the real culprit, the man who should be feeling their venom skulks down the tunnel as the whistle blows.
Must be off quickly to practice his pathetic excuses.
Good enough squad (as is) to challenge for the title...... my arse!

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but with regards to his comment that football has gone 'crazy'. In my humble opinion, I think it is crazy that a manager earns a whopping 7.5 million a year for minimal 'success', I think it is crazy for a club to pay lego head, Bendtner, chamakh et al 50+ a week on contracts that last half a decade.

I think it is crazy to play the clown in goal for six or so seasons. I also think that it is rather crazy to say the team is 'stronger' than the previous seasons when you basically slash the wage bill by half. If Larry David wants to bring back Curb Your Enthusiasm just ring Wenker. Rant over

this is so predictable its laughable - off to Asia with no new signings, a few easy wins against obscure opposition, title talk from the kids, then back for a couple of mediocre performances at the bowl which show how under prepared and lacking in talent and organisation we are, which is followed by "if we can do anything before the start of the season we will, but....."

we've only had since July 1st to sign players, and prepare the team...

July 1st? You are being generous my friend!! The guy has had since towards the end of last season - or at least since the season actually ended in mid-May - to put in place his targets and to go and get them. God knows he must have realised long before the end of the previous campaign that this team and squad just wasn't good enough. Afterall, everyone else (including Gazidis) did!! :banghead: :banghead:

Look folks, I have always been a lurker but signed up yesterday and I have always been against wenker since 2009, when I declared that we would not win nothing under LORD WENKER ever again until his gone. Look this man must be deluded to actually say we can the title    is this man on something or smoking something as the Liverpool owner said. We have become a laughing stock and it seems only those deluded AKB'S do not see the reality.

I was so happy when drogba came on as I knew he would destroy as and that is what happened, the man is 35 wow but he is still better than any strikers we have at arsenal it is as simple as that. Giroud could have never scored the goal drogba scored that is a fact folks his not on that level. The guy can not hit a barn door with a banjo :banghead: :banghead:. He is just a set piece guy or aerial guy we have become a set piece team. We should have lost yesterday as well we got lucky.

Im just so tired at having to look at this wenger bloke what is wrong with this man. He is so delude dits unreal. Even the BT sports team said, they can not see us not spending and bringing in some reinforcements they said it would be suicidal not to. I will not hold my breathe as LORD WENKER is so stubborn he will probably still think today was a fluke win by Galatasry smh,smh :censored: :banghead:

It wouldn't surprise that in his strange delusional mind he may think of
putting in a last minute bid for Drogba. Saying that he may bulk at the extra 60p
Galatasary would be asking plus the medical fees the nearest mental/nursing home
would be charging for putting him up For 18 months.

I see his other defence mechanism is now kicking in. He is feeding stories to the press to divert criticism. Last week it was his views on Bale and Financial Fair Play. His latest titbit is Fabregas is staying at Barca for another year. Obviously he didn't give his views on whether we should buy him back.

You seen this gem? The deadline to register the squad for the CL qualifiers is 12 August (Monday week) and Wenger says that it's unlikely there'll be new players in before then.

Oh damn, might as well wait to see if we qualify before we decide to go on a supermarket dash in the last three days of the window...
