Galatasaray thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Surely a statement like that is enough to get a guy sectioned?

criticising the ox shouldn't be controversial. He English so he gets some extra leeway, but I've said before if the kids are good enough they'll make it, fed up protecting kids by not signing the quality players we need.

Giroud resumes his transformation into 'Le Chapman' as soon as he sets foot on UK soil. I reckon he is like Clark Kent or something with the notable exception that his transformation is a negative one.

However, I am holding out hope that Wenger will leave this year, so I am coming to look at the upcoming season as a pantomime play. At this rate, I just can't see us qualifying for the CL in our games in a couple of weeks. If we don't, Wenger won't spend and fans will really start booing. A fitting end really.

Yeah, I thought he made Mertesacker look a little silly really :?

Drogba's movement for his 2nd goal didn't even have to be that great. He took a couple of steps and was completely free in our box  - Mertesacker completely lost him, and after Drogba's decent first touch, Mert was totally out of the game

It was too easy, and all a little pathetic from such an experienced defender  - friendly or not, you've got to get tighter to Drogba than that! :?

All in all, not the greatest Emirates cup for us

Biggest signing on display was Higuain for Napoli and Sanogo for us
Lost one, drew 1. Finishing 3rd overall.
Conceded 4 goals.
Only scored from crosses - 2 from set pieces and 1 cross-come-shot from Theo. So didn't really look a threat in open play. :?
Boo's from the home crowd

And, icing on the cake.... we end up as Drogba's bitch YET AGAIN

In fairness, he's 5th choice left back (behind Gibbs, Monreal, Vermaelen & Sagna) and 5th choice centre back (behind Kos, Mert, Vermaelen and Sagna) + I expect us to sign another centre back in the coming weeks, so I think Miquel is the least of our worries to be honest.
