Bernard signed 5 year contract with Shakhtar-Donetsk. They got it for £21.5m

I never thought we were seriously in for him, in all honesty, ditto Suarez. At the end of the window Wanger will roll out such pearls as "we were trying very hard to get Suarez/Higuian/Cruyff/Puskas but the market is inflated" or, "we have internal solutions".

Even for an old cynic like me though I cannot believe we won't make any signings as surely that would be dereliction of his duty to do the best for Arsenal?

Higuain I think the vast majority on here would have loved. I personally wasn't too fussed on Jovetic or Bernard as I'm not entirely convinced by either and we'll make an absolute maximum of 1 big signing this year.
