I must have missed that bit.euphoricone wrote:The fact that wenger has behaved this way just shows us how stable he really is at his job, how much chance there is of him being sacked no matter what happens. I personally feel he'll make a signing before the end of the season, but his primary motive is getting eisfeld gnabry akpom miyachi zalalem etc some major playing time. Lets face it if he spends big he'll undo all the good work hes done in the past few years and im okay with that but clearly he is not. If he cant buy a ronaldo or bale he wants to make one himself. Unfortunately it doesnt always work that way and we're going to learn this the hard way.

Re: Villa match thread
Wenger will undoubtedly point towards the international friendlies rather than the lack of signings as to why we have such a threadbare squad going into the start of the season.
Now although I whole-heartedly agree that it's ridiculous to have an international friendly break at this time (especially with a full international break in two and a half weeks time) it's only complicated problems that are already in existence, and it's hardly as though a few players picking up knocks or being fatigued after these fixtures at the end of pre-season is unforeseen.

Fail to prepare ..be prepared to fail. The games of brinkmanship with the fourth spot/VT Trophy will catch up and with Spurs adding another player that we were linked with only a monumental fuck up similar to the last two seasons by them will save us.
Would never want arsenal to lose but fully understand other fans saying it is their belief that to fail is the only way out of this malaise longterm. Villa by 2-0 or 2-1..jaded, a little short, internationals, handbrake...take your pick.

Re: Villa match thread
Wenger is gambling on us making a good start, if we beat Villa and Fulham, it will lessen the call for transfers, so with that in mind, its easy to see why some fans want the team to lose.

I want Arsenal to win BUT I will take the positives from the shitsorm that will come Turnip's way if it's a defeat.
Re: Villa match thread
I can't see any way out of the wenger regime other than failure on the field, that results in profit loss. I hate to feel like this but I do.
Defeat on Saturday (or even a drab draw) will put huge pressure on for the clge game, a game which Kroenke and co care about simply because of the financial rewards. So that is what I want.

The boos at half time against Napoli showed that it will take very little in the way of poor results for things to turn extremely nasty. There is some serious unrest coming down the tracks.

But the inspiring second-half comeback showed how impatient those boo boys are and why we should blindly stick our faith in Wenger... againrodders999 wrote:The boos at half time against Napoli showed that it will take very little in the way of poor results for things to turn extremely nasty. The problem is too many fans, still dont see any problems at the club, no matter what happens, Wenge cant be criticised, in their eyes.northbank123 wrote:But the inspiring second-half comeback showed how impatient those boo boys are and why we should blindly stick our faith in Wenger... againrodders999 wrote:The boos at half time against Napoli showed that it will take very little in the way of poor results for things to turn extremely nasty. Of course Wenger can be criticised,
you can still want your side to win
if Wenger doesn't win something or at least challenge for the title
I can see him jacking it in at the end of the season anyway

Last season, a fan was attacked for holding up an anti-Wenger banner, while i know for a fact, criticising Wenger at home games, has seen both verbal and physical confrontations, so it appears criticising Wenger is prohibited.highburyJD wrote:Of course Wenger can be criticised,

All the AKB's are those sheeple who applied to be stewards but didn't get the job because they were all to blinkered in their vision.
Re: Villa match thread
With Sagna injured, Arteta Wally Ramsey and Santi doubtful... who will even play?

It's probably hyperbole.p206ab wrote:With Sagna injured, Arteta Wally Ramsey and Santi doubtful... who will even play?
I reckon Sagna, Theo, Arteta and Ramsey will all start. Cazorla may be on the bench though. All will figure.
At worst, I bet one of them misses out. Not all 5.
