SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Call it what you want  he has a deal with them, end of story.
What will your fans' attitude towards him this season be like knowing that he's not only moving to your biggest footballing rivals, but that he's shafting you and depriving you of a potentially 50m euro transfer fee?

Must be particularly frustrating because it's just typical Bayern tactics.
Why would Bayern pay £42m for a guy who is available on a free next summer? They are not in urgent need either.

Clearly they wouldn't - but if he wasn't insistent on running down his contract to go there on a free that's the sort of fee he'd be fetching.

And by typical Bayern tactics I was referring to their habit of going after the star players of any other German teams who have the temerity to challenge them. For all this complaining about nouveau riche and FFP none of it as is as uncompetitive as the power that Bayern have in Germany.

Anzhi have now sold five players. Three Russian internationals Zhirkov, Denisov and Kokorin to Dinamo Moscow. The latter returning to Dinamo without having played a single game for Anzhi  Another Russian international Shatov has gone to Zenit. And finally Boussoufa (Moroccan midfielder) has joined Lokomotiv Moscow.

Samba (29, CB), Jucilei (25, DM), Lassana Diarra (28, DM), Willian (25, AM), Lacina Traore (23, ST) and Eto'o (32, ST) are still up for grabs.

Its a nice thought, but there isnt a hope he would sign for us. Why join a club that only wants to qualify for the champions league, when you can wait a season, and join the actual champions.

We're like the creepy, drunken old bastard who's leering from girl to girl just before chucking out time at a nightclub, desperately hoping someone will come home with us.

No plan at all, not a clue. Stumbling aimlessly from one possible transfer target to the next. For what it's worth i'd prefer Suarez anyway. Rooney, whilst still good, his best years are behind him I think.

It isnt going to happen anyway, the reason Rooney wants to join Chelsea, is because he sees them as title challengers, i doubt he wants to be part of our quest for the virtual trophy. :banghead:

Lewandowski would want to join Arsenal instead of Bayern if he was a man of principles and would rather play for a club with a socialist wage structure than a filthy capitalist club that only rewards success.

Also Guardiola is a mercenary unlike loyal Arsene "7.5 million" Wenger.

Lacazette of Lyon looks like a Wenger type buy.

Yes. Being delegated is worse than coming 4th.

So far in this transfer window, only West Brow have "spent" as much as us (i.e. £0):

http://www.theguardian.com/football/int ... nteractive

Sp*rs our direct rivals for top four and the team that has only been one point worse off than us in the two previous seasons have spent £60.6m.
