As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Optimism is for tomorrow. Tonight is a night for frustration....and a little pessimism. That's pretty normal if you ask me.
I'm always a little wary about optimistic fans just after a VERY disappointing result....In my experience it generally means they just don't care enough...hence they get over it quicker.
You;ll be telling me its only a game next!
This result will be stewing away inside me for a day or 2..then it'll give way to a bit of optimism...and eventually, by the day of the 2nd Leg, it'll be "land of hope and glory", "the impossible dream" and all that.
But for tonight.....just frustration and a little pessimism i'm afraid

With all respect mate, people have been writing the same crap, like your comment above, after our games against Birmingham, Villa, Wigan, Boro, Chelsea...and now Liver-fucking-pool
We were on top of that "hill" 6 weeks ago, now its our Everest to climb!
- and just to rub it in....Van Persie is OUT of the 2nd leg!!! DAMN IT!
Don't get me wrong Picadilly, your comment is fair enough...its just that its wearing thin now...and doesn't bring a shred of comfort anymore..that's all.
g88ner, I've got to ask, as you use the Caps Lock to express such disapointment in RVP missing leg 2, where was he at the San Siro? In fact where has he been most of this season whilst this team have got themsleves into the position they are in? Not on the pitch thats for shit sure. We've done so much without him this year we can easily do it again.
This is for all Gooners not just g88ner, if you think we can't win at Anfield go and support another team. It's not a huge stretch of the imagination to believe it. It's not like we're asking for JC's second coming. Arsenal are as good as any team in Europe. It's very simple, we play well we will go through, we don't play well and we're out.
good repost No5,,, i have just had a bet with a spud that WE will be playing Fernabace,, wat do you think ,,,, Glass HALF full or STUPIDITY,,, i know we can do it,,,,

Just got back from the pub. Still hopeful. I think it will be 2-2 away. so we will go through. no worries
I agree with most things that have been said already. Eboue is a waste of space etc. Bendtner wants to play for Liverpool . RvP rip at least until next season.
I'll carry on supporting Arsenal if its all the same mate
I won't repeat myself...but just before you sent your message, I also sent one..explaining my feelings a little better.
In any case, I read my original post again, and I'm a little surprised by your reaction. I didnt at any point say we couldn't still go through did I? and why should I go support another team? because i'm disappointed? that makes no sense at all. I'm a football fan...its an emotional game. Well it is for me.
I haven't written anything controversial. In fact, considering all the "Eboue out" and "Bendtner out" messages tonight by other "fans" I'm a little suprised you honed in on my message for your "go support another team" campaign.
Anyway, no hard feelings.

Number 5 I don't think that we don't believe we can't win at Anfield.........it is a huge possibility!
You have to accept though on our current form and with a threadbare squad full of either out of form, under acheiving or simply sub-standard players that we are not pulling out the big game results at present!
I know people will point to Bolton but that cannot be a genuine marker as it was one of those freak results!
I wil accept that lady luck has not been with us however so maybe she will return next Tuesday........we will need her!
keep your head up, i dont think anyone is having a go at you directly or your support for the FAMOUS ARSENAL,,, i think we are all disappointed with tonights result, we went to sleep within 3 mins and we should have done better, but lets look forward and show some support for our team and within each other,,, then we can do it,,,,,

lol to be honest it's been a long day and I don't have the strength to get angry tonight when there is still postives to take into our next CL game (Not how we played mind just how we will have the imputus to put in good preformance away from home wich I know we can do)
And as for not caring about Arsenal results I dont think I can afford to get emotional again this season after trashing my room after the Birmingscum game, several smashed glasses ripped posters and the hole in my bedroom wall testifies to my *ahem* mood swings according to arsenal results.

Gus, I feel a bit alone tonight, but I genuinely felt we played very well in the second half. Well enough to leave me sure we can go up there and pull it out, yes generally we've been poor latley. But now we're asking for one performance on one night. Weigh up all our bad performances this year against the good and we have a lot more reason to be optimistic. I'm going to go all cliche here, Form Be Temporary but Class Be Permanent. And I do believe we are class, emphatically.
g88ner I only singled out your post as you seem in despair over RVP being out which is all I asked you personally about. The rest was directed at everyone else who feels it applies to, as I tried to make out. But you didn't answer my RVP question did you?
well played picadally gooner, you are quite right, i know exactl how you feel i awoke on the day after Manure away in the Fa cup to find i thought i had been burgled,,,,, but ithen i realise i hadnt as the dat drew on, i had just arrived home at 2am after drinking bombay saphire shots in birmingham city centre and had smashed the house up on my own,,,, in disgust
