Villa match thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You want overrated - Wilshere is the name you're looking for. He will be good in 3 or 4 years but at the moment not so much. We are missing Arteta and Carzola badly.
He also nearly cost us a second goal because he needlessly charged off his line AGAIN

Look in front of your eyes for overrated - Chesney is the most overrated keeper in the league
Joe Hart? Agree though, he's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. Not sure about the pen though, as the ref played advantage and they hit the side netting, should they have had the pen too? :?

Back to the game, could be watching any home game against average oppo from the last 6 seasons, dominate without really hurting them.
Hey ho, 45 minutes to go :barscarf:
You missed off and they score from their first real attack of the game and then we go to pieces, moan, complain about tackles, instead of getting back to playing football and getting back into the lead again.

With this constant mugging, they've been taken off their usual game.

Hopefully that make-up yellow on the nut-shot evens things up call-wise the rest of the way.

it's not a case of having a 11 health players, the 11 we have got ain't good enough, looking on last season form, apart from maybe a fit Diaby   We haven't got any first teamers missing,

That's our best Goalkeeper, our best defence, apart from Cazorla on the bench our best midfield and Giroud and Pod are the best two strikers at the club. We can't use the excuse we still got 3 or 4 players to come back in to the squad
this alone shows how poor the squad is, not just in numbers.

We scrapped 4th last season, with the same players so why should it be any different this season.

lost count the number of games at home where we come raring out the blocks and it looks like its going to be a thrashing, only to end up as a nailbiter.

The likes of Cech, Seaman, Given and Friedel were some of the best keepers in the PL era and all seem far more balanced and less egotistical than your average PL footballer.

Looking at strikers and listing the likes of Shearer, Henry, Cantona, Suarez, van Judas, Rooney - I'd say that they're generally far more arrogant and egotistical by nature.

There really is a case to be made that Rosicky is the best player in the whole squad in terms of quality + consistency. That is worrying.

Yeah, that Bob Wilson is a fucking egomaniac I tell ye.

Yes, I have played a game. In fact I played in goal for Arsenal at academy level when I was younger. I played in goal most of my adult life until it caused me to have three right knee operations on in six years and now I can't play. I can't even run without agony.

So yes, I have played.

You sound right up Wenger's street, mate, injured and in pain. How have you not had a phone call from him and a ten year deal on £100,000 a week?

Switching between radio and annoying stream, anyone got a decent stream?

If John Hartson says "pelanty" once more i'm going to get annoyed.

Yup keeper and strikers are wankers. You list the keepers, guarantee all of their back fours need earplugs.

Arteta and Cazorla would make a difference in midfield. Plus there's zero cover at this point. Who comes in if we have another injury on defense,

But yes, we do need some better players. Another quality Keeper, center back, holding mid, creative mid, winger and striker would push us to a higher level.

Ugh. Weak sub. Ox was playing well, and I was hoping we'd save Santi for the midweek CL away match. Hopefully Ox isn't hurt.

As the crowd becomes more corporate we slowly turn into a Manc type crowd

The moaning about the decisions is a complete embarrassment

Barely a single incorrect decision so far

Although not injured not in pain I do spend my days waiting by the phone for the call up.
