As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

personally, i'm actually looking forward to this game knowing any result has positives, theres no pressure and it's the first Arsenal match on the box this season.
Cheers
Fenerbahce SHOULD be fodder. Even with a make do defence we SHOULD have the attacking clout to get by and after the Villa game if Wenger can't get these guys up for a huge performance then either he can't get into the players head OR the players are effectively agitating for him to go (which I don't necessarily rule out).
If we don't get through this tie he MUST resign and if we do get through he MUST pay overs to get some superstars.
The funny thing is he will suffer from his own frugality - his delays cost us more in transfers than they would if he was like quick draw McGraw Mourihno who seems to think of someone he wants on the bogger and by the time he's had his first coffee they're announcing a signing.
just like Udinese was before, this playoff is arguably our biggest game of the season
makes no sense to me how badly prepared we seem, thought the club was obsessed with the CL money?
It was fucking unbelievable that we struggled to fill the bench with regular first teamers for the Villa game.
It is an absolute fucking disgrace that Arsenal Football club are struggling to put a side of regular first teamers on to the pitch for the game in Turkey.
I think this game (& the return) will prove to be huge in both Wenger's and Our season...
If we go out of the cl - which is very possible with the way our squad is looking and feeling - that will impact on Wenger/The Board/The Fans - and How they then stand with regards Wenger, even the AKB's may begin to be swayed against him....though most will blame the board and not him as well...Any player of quality that might have come to us in this (or January's) window will think twice with no CL football...and then of course there's the financial implications....will the board/wenger feel they have to re-tighten the purse strings without the CL dosh coming in....

It really is all f*cked up isn't it.
We would only be making new signings, to qualify for the money league, so whats the point

As much as I despise him I never want us to lose, I just can't understand the thinking. Yes it will put more pressure on him but we all know he won't get the sack and won't resign. It's almost like the more losses and more pressure makes him stronger. As long as he has Kroenke's support he is not going anywhere.
I'd rather hope we win this one as I can't stomach playing in the Makita cup with the ****.

This competition is pointless to us, we all know we are heading towards a last 16 exit, and it is just a cash cow.

Red Member must be creaming his pants just about now.

You're preaching to the choir mate. It's the lesser of 2 evils.
Come on, get in the spirit, let's beat the Turks so we can all go back to singing ONE ARSENE WENGER!!
Can never remember another ocassion where I have lost such interest. If we sneaked through, what is the point. We won't win the competition and any money we make will not be spent, so it is all pointless.
Hope we win because any slight chance we have of actually signing any quality will probably totally dissapear if we are in the EuroMakita Cup rather than the CL. I still want Arsenal to win no matter who is in charge.
Reckon we'll get done 2-1 by the Stabhappy's away and then, at home in a game Wenger will hail as his "greatest ever achievement", we will scrape a shit one nil win and get through on the away goal.... then go on to finish runners up in a group we should have won and then get tonked out by the first real quality team we meet in the knock out stages.... etc. etc. etc.

You sound like you're talking from experience mate? Don't happen to know this week's lottery numbers do ya?
