SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I wouldn't pay even the £10m we offered for him. Move on. There must be better value in Ligue Deux !

We play three midfielders, IMO Cabaye would just compete with Jack and Rambo to be the middle one

The funniest thing will be when Wenger can't get these players because he left it so late.

Cabaye would be a decent acquisition to provide competition for places, but we won't even get him because Newcastle will try to fleece us, so Wenger will switch targets.

Two weeks left - Wenger.

Swansea won't be able to turn down a combined £40m bid for Michu and Williams, and Ashley is as hard nosed, cold businessman as they come so £17m+ for Cabaye will be snapped up. We'd have spunked the best part of £60m in the blink of an eye and not a single world class player to show for it

I'm amazed we still have any money at all after the done deals of Goetze and Zaha (thanks Sammy) and Higuain (thanks 1989)

We're just a money making machine

The daft thing is, regardless of whether it's true or not, the narrative for the next fortnight is cast - Arsenal are desperate and panicking.

And this widely held belief can only play into the hands of any club we do business with.

For supposedly intelligent people, our manager and board haven't half come out of this looking like a bunch of incompetent idiots

I don't think Wenger is panicking.
So when the other clubs ramp up their prices, he will just pull the plug!

which he's consistently done, at what point do we run out of targets?

It's like he's got a list of every player in the gane, offers what he thinks is acceptable, is subsequently knocked back and rather than negotiate crosses them off the list and moves on to the next one.
