SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Le bumhole  At the start of the window hes like a cocksure lad at 10pm in niteclub..trying to chat up girls out of his league  (probably asking them to get the drinks in the miserable *word censored*)and hes getting knockbacks galore  halfway through the window/night hes had a bellyfull of beer and his vision is blurred, now the half decent looking ones seem like supermodels  and still they knock him back  :banghead:
Were now at the end of the window and its 245am in the club..le bumholes head is up his bumhole,a disheveled mess propping the bar up,slurring his words..the useless *word censored* is so desperate now that even the dogs seem attractive
Next stop its the taxi rank to see if he can grab a growler...

Turning wine into water

Sells RvP, Nasri and Fabregas for combined sum in the region of c. £75m-£80m

Uses £60m of it to sign Williams, Michu and Cabaye

Now that's what I call a progressive manager

ONE ARSENE WENGER.......THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER

If we walk away from Higuain for £30m but sign Michu £20m + then I would expect Wenger to be hounded out of the club.

They were sold for footballing reasons. Anyone who's worked half a day in football can see that.

Michu is already being quoted at £25m so in the end we'll pay roughly the same fee that Napoli paid for a proven international class striker from Real Madrid for a fella who cost £2m from the back of beyond a year ago

His final myth of being wise with money will be laid bare along with his 'great developer of talent' monicker

Michu will cost wenger more than 15 million. No chance. He only want super super and top top quality players who cost less than 15 million and 1 pound

I think the Higuain flip-flop will be Wenger's albatross as we were crying out for a star signing annd he wanted to join us. Only we could fuck up a transfer of an interested player so badly.

Wenger, Gazidis, Dick Law - I don't know who bears ultimate responsibilty for bollocksing it up (I can hazard a guess :) ) but they should lose their job.

No excusing the terrible summer we've had.
Strange to see the naysayers twist themselves in transfer market knots
seems we failed to sign our primary targets (some people say we didn't even really want some/all of the players we were linked with. I wouldn't know)
After our failure the narrative was Wenger can't handle the over-heated transfer market
he has his own values for players, and in the current market those values are too low
If he bends from this position, it's fine to say I told you so
bit harsh to moan about actually making signings at the 'new level'
either players are good enough to improve our squad or not
it's irritating if our self created position of desperation inflates an over heated market further
but we still need to buy and they need to be ready to play footballers
not 'potential'.

Feels like some anti-Wenger people want to have their cake and eat it
we've all screamed we need to sign players and quibbling over a few million can/has cost us
Lets not do it again!

Sorry, you don't collect points for past history. Wenger was a great manager, back in the 90tees. He says he has all this money to spent but reality is that every European league has started and just give me one reason why a player should change late at this point, also the other clubs know now in which desperate situation Arsenal is and the game Saturday did not made it easier.

JD lets be honest this has been a complete and utter mess this was our chance to get back with the big boys and Wenger and the board have fluffed there lines so badly some heads have to roll and tbh our leader has had enough lives now and for me he has to be first to go .

ps
Not a Wenger fan for the last 4-5 years but would hate to see the fans turn nasty as it did on Sat and only can see it get worse hope he will just do the right thing and resign so we still can remember the good times .

All we'll get now is overpriced mediocrities that no-one else wants. Even Sp*rs are clearly seen as more of an attractive option than Arsenal right now, as they seem to have a future, whereas Wenger is living in the past.
Everyone knows we have big money, so the going rate for an ordinary player will be much higher than it should be.
I honestly think AW has no idea who to sign, no defined targets.

Leaving it so late and so desperate we've fucked ourselves regarding prices. If Arsenal are after a player of mine now I'd add another 5-10 million, so much for fucking about to try to save money and wenger is apparently an economist
