THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Stewart Robson was just on 5live calling him out.
Cue for all the 'superfans' to say what *word censored* Robson is and he's got an agenda against the club blah blah blah

At least he can string a sentence together without mispronouncing every player's name and saying "he's just hit the beans on toast Geoff" like some revered pundits we could mention

ONE STEWART ROBSON.....THERE'S ONLY ONE STEWART ROBSON

The next two games will decide the entire season. You will play away at Fulham (which have one at Sunderland) and then you have Tottenham at home. For me it looks like you will loose at Fulham and then the nerves will be stretched to the limit for the home game against Tottenham and I have a feeling that you will get a show down.

I seen on sky text today, quotes from Sunday supplement, in which the panel had a real go at Wenger. The more shit, that wanker gets, the better.

The egotistical prick knows that if he spends big to win he would have failed in the eyes of the media and fans. So he wants to win by doing the absolute minimum to satisfy his ego.

All the praise and being branded a genius got to this freak's head, and this is the result, and we're the ones suffering.

He's put his own self-interests ahead of those of the club and supporters.

I've never seen a more arrogant, self-serving manager in football.

Agree 100%, but sadly the sheep who worship him are also the problem. Last season when we scraped a 2-1 win away against West Brom, they were chanting his name, this is the type of fans, who will praise him, for doing a shit job :banghead:

Pretty much. If he doesn't spend but continues to attain 4th he can wheel out every well worn excuse - "we cannot compete financially", "financial doping", "we spend within our means".

If, however, he goes large in the transfer market and then fails in the league all his excuses get shown up for the bullshit they are.

You will not finish 4 with the current squad!

Dunno if posted elsewhere, but John Cross responds to being called a Media Luvvie

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... al-2183126

Says the fan involved is never happy, even back when we were winning doubles.

A pretty patronising response if I'm honest

People like John Cross have completely ignored the existence of any dissent up til now and will then turn round and suggest it's fans being fickle based on one summer.

It's good to see John Cross getting called out on his crap. He spews out pro-Wenger propaganda and presents rumours as facts and now he's trying to back out of it because somebody's had a pop at him.

oh the Irony - Pravda on July 16th :
Walcott - We've got a shot at the title

Arsenal have "a very good chance" of challenging for the title this season, according to Theo Walcott.

The England forward topped the Gunners' scoring charts last term with 21 in all competitions - the first time Walcott has broken the 20-goal barrier in his career.

Arsenal won nine of their last 11 games last season and the 24-year-old believes they can take that momentum into the new campaign.

"The teams that finished above us have changed their managers," said Walcott. "We've still got ours.
:cussing:

day after, (17th ...)
Jack Wilshere claims Arsenal players are excited by the prospect of big-name signings and need to aim high this season.

The Gunners look set to invest in a forward with Luis Suarez and Gonzalo Higuain linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium so far this summer.

Wilshere admits there is a buzz about the club and with the top three all changing their manager from last season, the midfielder senses an opportunity to use that to Arsenal's advantage.

"Everyone at the training ground has been talking about big-name signings," he told reporters.

"It would give us all such a massive lift. Not just the players but the staff and everybody connected to Arsenal.

"Everything has changed at the other top-four clubs. Alex Ferguson has gone, Chelsea and City have new managers so we have to set our targets high.
