Ox jumping in was stupid but he'd been influenced by the ref. Taylor let them nail so many of our players.
Chambo was basically trying to protect himself, that went well!
Not watched highlights, it ain't a pen. Saw him play the ball.
TOTALLY disagree on moaning to the ref. Nowhere near enough complaining.
ManUre, Chelski even Liverpool would surround the ref if Gerrard or Carrick was persistently nobbled
our players left Wilshere and Giroud to moan alone whenever they were kicked.
Allowed Villa to execute a cynical game plan and taylor to send off Kos but not Vlaar or Westwood.!
Koscielny played the ball AFTER he had fouled the player. I think the ref may have fluked getting it right but nevertheless he did get it right! As he did with most of the other key decisions.

He mentioned the ref in the first sentence when he spoke after the game - then when pressed said he didn't want to say anymore as he doesn't speak about referees. So effectively he blames the ref but then distances himself from expanding on why he is blaming him. Typical of the crafty way Wenger operates.

And with this defeat and the fact Wenger will not spend, the season is now effectively over.
Anyone silly enough to think that this situation can be turned around is a clown of the highest order.
The Zombies who keep funding this maIaise via their season ticket have a terrible nine months coming there way.
What a waste of time and money.

Anthony Taylor dropped from this weekend's matches. Wenger vindicated, Villa forfeit, we get the 3 points!

Ref was atrocious. Should be fired not suspended.
A better team still wins. We had no proper backup for Arteta
that's not Taylor's fault.

Re: Villa match thread
Ref was shit, 2 years ago I would have been raging with that referee and everything. These days I just fucking laugh. This club is a joke and sadly I'm ashamed to support this club anymore.
This club is a different animal since 2006 and leaving Highbury. To me its near what happened when Wimbledon moved to ****** Keynes.
Everything this club stood for, has been destroyed by Wenger and co. What sort of a mess can a club be when nearly half the fanbase wants them to lose a Champions League Qualifier so the manager gets sacked?

Re: Villa match thread
as my Dad says, if you're three or four up, a bit o bad luck like a disallowed goal, penalty and/or sending off shouldn't matter.
its obvious to all, that the collection of internationals have suffered from piss poor planning from day one this off season, for the second year in a row too; and a serious lack of preparation and coaching in the run up and on the day.
I said last March, IMHO Wenger is not capable of managing any team at all.
we still don't practice set pieces, defensive drills, or allow for the oppositions tactics or any changes. "we just go out and play our game.."

We don't practice? Where does that come from? What does Steve Bould do?

okay, now i've stopped giggling i'll give you the straight answer - other, less expressive clubs, lob high balls into the box for the keeper and back four, they practice defending free kicks, break aways, early crosses, crosses to the back of the box, defending a high line....highburyJD wrote:We don't practice? all to build up second nature and muscle memory.
but do we do this in training. non. we poo poo such trivialities. OUR back four focus on sprints and possession, first touch and control in limited 2 v 2's or 3 v 3's....
that way our back four and keeper are free to express themselves and be the artistes and launchpads for stunning rapier like attacking moves... against our lesser gifted but probably prepared and organised opponents.
have you ever seen training on Members Days ? - you know they run around for an hour then move around little squares around the pitch for the next hour before a jog to the showers ? that's not for the fans, that is really how we train

back in the day, we then used to go and get a kicking at barnet or stevenage followed by johnny foreigner trying to break our legs which would be perfect preparation for the blood, guts and thunder of the EPL, which despite its high pace and not a little skill, is still the most physical league in the World.
that would prepare us for the first game and to put some flash c.unt from some skanky poohole 4 rows back after his first touch - any of le saux, klinsmann, mcmamananaman, pennant, bentley, even Tony Daley, can be inserted here.
but alas after six weeks of total non contact in training (remember when they used to let the reserves and apprentices at them ????), our pampered babies are given a five star guided tour of the far east now, to sell a few shirts and play exhibition games against opposition who are warned under no circumstances to ever actually touch one of our darling boys.
even then, some, if not many, will crumble at the first attempt to run at match speed and compete for the ball...
that my unlearned friend is the current pitiful state of our training and preparation methodology - in short, unbelievable belief PLUS super quality, always wins.

Don't forget the free kicks that they practice, they must practice trying to kick it into the wall on purpose, or our corners, struck beautifully into the opposition goalie's hands and why the fuck does Wally Walcott take our free kicks anyway? He is a fucking shit, 100k a week useless wanker who we should have got rid of last season when we had the fucking chance!
