SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What the fuck is Moyes playing at with his transfer policy? Pissing around with leaking transfer bids and publicising chief exec returning from tour to 'finalise transfer business' when Fabregas was never gonna go there. Then waits for the season to start to put in a double bid for Fellaini and Baines - two players that everybody suspected he was going to target - at a joke price that's never going to persuade them to sell.

With the movement and excitement around Citeh and Chelsea all he needed to do was go about his business quietly and efficiently, and make his signings early doors. Instead he's just increased the question marks around his ability to attract quality players and started to look panicky - only exacerbated by pathetic comments about fixture list. Had a great start against Swansea but if they have a few poor results in their next 4 games the doubts will start creeping in.
Seems strange to me that Moyes is already out of touch with the mood at Everton and his bid was regarded as 'Insulting'. I would have expected he would have done his negotiations at the back door and had it all tied up before a formal bid was done.

We look so utterly clueless and desperate right now. We are not going to attract anyone of class as a) they're already taken, b) it's too late in the window so potential selling clubs risk their own backlash if they let a top player go after he's already been seen on the pitch c)they won't want to come to a club in such dissaray, d)they know the manager is hated, e)they know they are probably 5th choice, f) they think OMG how much pressure is going to be on new signings now.

This season i think is a debacle. It would be best served finding a new manager with a history of being able to make good signings (and maybe also being able to prepare a team to play - just a thought).

As an example - apparently Monaco may already be in strife with Falcao - now, if that's true, even if we made the right bid - WHY, WHY would he come to us?

I promise this is not wuming, but apparently we have signed... a 15 years old named Kistopher Da Graca from sweden.

http://arsenalyouth.wordpress.com/2013/ ... -da-graca/

They are trully taking the piss out of us after all! I just wonder if Arsene will have the balls to use this guy as an example of the "top quality" he signed this summer.... :rubchin: :rubchin: :rubchin:

Who am I kidding, he probably will.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Btw, for what its worth, I'm not impressed at all by names like Michu, Cabye, Williams... The summer just got worse and worse as time passed by concerning transfer rumours. From the Cesc, Rooney, Higuain, Suarez, to the Michu, Cabaye, uchida, williams and other kondogbia. Even if we signed all of those later players, I wouldnt be satisfied at all.

This article sums up everything wrong with this club, and the most worrying aspect is, Wenger has so much power, no matter how shit we get, it seems he will decide if he gets a new contract :banghead:

If that staggering claim about The Ox is true then it doesn't add much weight to JD's argument that ''Anybody who believes Wenger prioritizes money over football isn't paying attention'' does it? :)

No, surely he can't do that. His contract ending soon is my only ray of hope as a gooner, please don't take it away.

What a fucking mess we are in. If I was a player being told arsenal wanted to sign me, even as a supporter of the club, i would be asking who's gonna be in charge next season? if the answer was wenger i'd turn the club down.

I know we're paper-thin but Wenger had better not go out and spunk away £40-50m on three average players like Cabaye, Williams and co.

I'd rather Wenger not piss the money away so that a new manager can have it next season (even if it means this season being a write-off) or spend it on somebody quality who will be great for us this year and beyond.

Arsene Wenger is finished as the manager of Arsenal. In fact he is finished 7 years ago. He will not buy the players the team need. He will only buy players who are not good enough. Once again we will be fighting for a champions league spot. Never ending groundhog day season after season

TBH I'd believe nothing that the Daily Mail write, mate. It MAY be true (God knows NOTHING surprises me at Arsenal anymore) but there is not one piece of evidence in that article.
