SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Best made up story of this transfer window :) He would fit perfectly to provide long pases to Suarez and Higuain  :barscarf:
Is it renewal time again?
What you don't need is a goalkeeper! because I think Szczesny is good, why is he not backed up by the manager?

And the defensive crisis will be eased by the arrival of Manchester City's Micah Richards and Schalke full-back Atsuto Uchida.

If we sign Begovic, Micah Richards, Paul Pogba and a top striker, I will be satisfied.
It has to be a real top striker though and I'm afraid unless its Suarez or Rooney then forget it. Michu is not a real top striker. He's a modern day Kevin Phillips with one freak season and hasn't got the quality required.

We sold one of the world's top strikers, one of the only players in world football capable of playing as the lone striker in our team so unless we sign someone of equivalent quality we have once again gone backwards

Don't know enough about Pogba but would have doubts that a bloke who Fergie had for a while and couldn't push his way into the side ahead of his Dad's Army must have something wrong with him.

Flamini - jesus wept. What an absolutely disgusting stinking backward step......oh, and he's not as good as Arteta anyway
Pogba would be great (letting him go was one of Fergies biggest mistakes imo) but forget about it. No way Juventus are going to sell him and why should he even want to leave?

Wenger is still revered as some sort of god by French players which is why he signs so many of them, and a lot who go to Italy don't stick it out there for long. The offer of £80k per week and playing for Lord Wenger might be enough for him.

Scez isn't bad, the problem is with others, Flappy and Martinez. They are bad, so they are no competition for number 1 and Scez thinks he's the king, like Joe Hart at Citeh.
What we need is not a worldclass keeper like Casillas, we need someone as number 2 with a lot of experience to become a threat to Scez and motivate him to push forward.
And perfect guy for this would be Julio Cesar. :barscarf:

Not a fan then?

I think he could be a good keeper but he should be nowhere near the 1st team at present. That we haven't moved for Cesar is baffling.

Spud wankers now look set to complete moves for Wilian and Erik Lamela. Anyone would think they were about to come into some money.

Who is Eric Lamela?
21-year-old Argentinian attacking midfielder/forward who can play through the middle and on the right. Got 15 goals and 5 assists in 30 starts for Roma last season.

If the Spuds are signing both Willian and Lamela, Bale is 100% a goner.
I think were fucked if the **** sign Willian, dont know much about the other geezer but his stats seem impressive, what with Soldado as well its fucking depressing seeing the shit we are linked with, **** top 3 I reckon, us top 6

So, with the combination of Champions League football and 24 hour a day scouting we have managed to acquire Sanogo, and that's it.

I know that Wenger is renowned for being good at saving and that he would probably be a better option than Fabianski in goal, but don't you think he has enough on his hands just trying to be the manager? :rubchin:

Don't you understand how difficult it is to get your business done early though? Just wait until deadline day and then you'll see how good our squad is after Arsene sends £50m in international development aid to Ligue's 1 & 2.

Real fans have paitence.

Fergie didn't let him go or want him to leave. As is the modern way, the player left because he got a good financial offer from Juve and a promise of more first team football. (Although I remember reading that Ferguson is said to have also offered him a guarantee of playing more if he stayed, so the former is more likely the real reason).

People talk about the money the scum are spending and how it suggests that monkey boy is on his way but what about the victims - so far, under brendan rodgers, they have spent just north of £72.5m and recouped £36.5m and now they were offering £30m for willian ? I think that it is a well accepted fact that they are not flush with money so where is their cash coming from ? :? Maybe they too are banking on a big sale to meet the bill for their incoming transfers ? :rubchin:

Hate wenker (the man is a c.unt) and cannot fathom what he is doing but right now fellaini and cesar should be absolute must buys - tbh I not sure if I give a continental fcuk who he buys or sells anymore
