SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

In relation to this supposed 70 mil warchest, can anyone remember our overall spending in the 2011/2012 window? We signed Gervinho, the ox, Santos, Arteta, BFG, and Park.

We spend around £50m on these six players. Ox for £12m, Arteta for £10m, Gervnho for £8m, Mertesacker for £8m, Fat Santos for £6m and Park for £5m.

In that transfer window, we also made £65m. £30m from Cesc, £25m from Samira, £7m from Clichy and £3m from Eboue.

Mate those articles bring back some horrible memories. I forgot we offered for 5M initially for Arteta.

I had what I thoguht was a lot of patience this summer. All gone now.

SteveO slating KP as having one freak season!
Go check his career, he has scored goals forever
I wish we'd taken him on a free from Watford: proper Gooner, proper finisher!

Of rather have Michu than Rooney. Shrek has been shite for ages.

He scored 27 league goals 2 years ago and was bloody fantastic for United. Last season he wasn't the main man, and didn't seem to like it.

Michu has much to prove. Not that I'm writing him off though. I haven't seen enough of him to properly judge.

If Wenger doesn't spend any money I'll be very happy in a way now because it's too late, he'll just waste it and it'll be another nail in his coffin.

But saying that I do still really want us to sign Cesar. When Szczesny first started playing I liked his confidence and willingness to take responsibility, but this has turned more and more into completely unfounded arrogance and the sight of him flapping shots straight back out to strikers and charging out of his goal recklessly without engaging his brain drives me mental. He is without doubt my least favourite player at the club and frankly fuck his 'potential', if he keeps this up he'll be working at the Polish supermarket off Holloway Road before he's 30.

No shit, you fucking idiot. Why do you think everyone was telling you to do business early?! If the window did close before the season starts then we'd be well and truly fucked and people would have the knives out for you wouldn't they?!

Fucking hell, is this guy for real? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Don't think anyone was saying "get the business done early, wouldn't want to spoil Pardew's day..."
