SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

we need a decent CB and a v reliable striker. Not sure our only target should be yet another small, ball playing, slightly effective midfielder.

Borussia Dortmund have trebled Robert Lewandowski's wages in a belated attempt to ward off Manchester United.

This year's Champions League finalists have upped his pay to £75,000-a-week for the final year of his contract with them.

Dortmund will reluctantly consider selling the Poland striker if anyone - bar Bayern Munich - matches their £25.5million asking price and Real Madrid are also monitoring developments.
75k a week? We were paying more for Arshavin! Chamakh had 60, Squid had 50k.
Anyhow 25,5million for a 25 year old is a damn good deal. What are you waiting for Wenker?

Give them 30m and 80k per week and it's a done deal!
While you are there, take Hummels or Reus too :)
Lewandowski is going to Bayern for free.

It wouldn't be an Arsenal transfer window without us being linked to Benzema again...

Hahaha, that's class. And depressing!

I don't know what Wenger's mentality is. I guess he thinks you're better placed to get a cheap deal closer to the end of the window. But surely anyone with the slightest bit of intelligence would understand that no club would sell a high quality, important player (which is what we need) with the window about to slam shut, and having very little chance of replacing them. Ridiculous.

"on if he needs to bolster the midfield…
Quality-wise we don’t need anybody but number-wise we are short as I told you yesterday."

"The transfer market starts for me now and a lot of activity will happen between now and September 2. From August 21 until September 2 you have 12 days, so a lot will happen. It starts now."

:cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

Oh dear... there aren't really any words... just makes you want to break down and cry. It doesn't start now! If you think it starts now this is the reason you'll end up with more dross that you'll be trying desperately to shift off in a couple of years!

I hate him more and more every time he speaks.

I notice from the previous link that our defeat to Villa has now been upgraded and put down to 'very, very, special circumstance'!!
